Does This AR Custom Build Look Okay?

I found a local AR for $550 with the following parts:
Tennessee Arms Co polymer lower
Enhanced PSA LPK with enhanced safety
PSA upper
Centerpoint 1-4 scope

It sound like the upper is a: PSA 16" MID-LENGTH 1:7 STAINLESS FREEDOM UPPER -WITH BCG AND CH - 7779819
I'm having a hard time with getting specifics, as I don't believe the seller is that familiar with it.

Does this sound like a fair deal? The rifle looks nice in the pictures.
Thanks.

Why not just go to PSA's website directly since the price difference is not much? at least you'll know what you are getting and will have that piece of mind if you need to return something that does not look right.

For that price I'd rather buy an S&W or a Ruger. They haven't been perfect but I'd trust either of those over PSA's spotty reputation. Of course that doesn't include an optic but Ruger AR-556s are running pretty cheap these days.

:iagree:
S&W M&P 15 Sport II $470 at Grabagun.com

Ruger AR-556 $499 at Grabagun.com

:iagree: Not excited about a polymer lower personally.

Both of the above are good suggestions.

A S&W Sport is a better bet at the $500 price point, especially if this is your first AR.

That PSA upper is $260 with free shipping. It looks like that's a $75 scope, new. That means you're paying $215 for the completed lower. I like PSA and have a build on a TAC polymer lower, but that price is too high for a home built AR.

Price is down to $500 with a box of ammo.
I'm really tempted, but I don't want to bother the guy with just browsing/looking.

Forgive my ignorance but is it legal to sell a homemade AR15?

If it were me I would stay away from polymer lowers. Punch in “problems with polymer lowers AR 15”,Nothing good will come of them in the long run I fear unless it is a “ safe gun”.

I just started looking into that myself. Apparently, there's what they call an 80% build. Which seems to be legal to build and use. But not to sell!
I've looked up what I believe is the "lower" for the rifle in question. The company DOES make serialized lowers. I've emailed the seller asking if this is serialized or not. I think so, because of the white strip seen here:

It seems to resemble the one in the ad.

Excuse my ignorance again but what does this comment mean? Is that an answer? Would not yes or no have been adequate?

In America, if something is not forbidden by law, then it is allowed. For example, there is no law explicitly permitting me to wear a white cowboy hat, but there is no law against it either, so wearing a white cowboy hat is permitted by default. For now.

Good point! I've been doing some research on that. Many people have had problems with them. I'm wondering if anyone has had good things to say about polymer lowers!

I'd say hard pass. That is put together with the most bottom tier parts. I wouldn't really pay much more than $300-350 but at the same time I'd rather wait a little longer, save, and buy something of twice the quality.
