MN: Minnesota HF3022 - A Bridge Too Far...

#1

Post by Iunnrais »

One of my friends up in MN sent a link to a bill that's been introduced up there:

https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.p ... _year=2018

Looks like they are trying to become the next Commiefornia:

– Permit required to own a gun
– Permit required to buy a gun
– Permit required to sell a gun
– Local law enforcement gets to deny all types of gun permits
– Local law enforcement gets to deny permits to carry
– Personal medical information must be shared with law enforcement
– All firearm transfers must be reported
– All guns must be registered (fees set by local law enforcement)
– Registration must be renewed annually
– Local law enforcement may conduct warrantless “safety inspections” of gun owner’s homes
– Local law enforcement sets “safe storage” policies
– Five day waiting period for all transfers
– Transfers must be done through an FFL (even between private parties)
– Fees may be charged for transfers
– Local law enforcement may conduct background investigation on transfers
– Total ban on any gun which meets broad “assault weapon” definition – banned guns must be destroyed or surrendered
– Ban thumbhole stocks
– Ban adjustable stocks
– Ban pistol grip stocks
– Limit fixed magazine capacity to 7 rounds
– Ban any magazine capable of holding more than 7 rounds
– Suspension of gun rights based on complaints from anonymous parties
– Recriminalization of suppressors
– Bump stock ban
– All ammunition sales will be registered
– Permit required to purchase ammunition

This isn't law yet. Is unlikely to become law, just a couple of leftist pushing a bill that will never pass. We have a few of them in Texas that do the same thing.

Ask for the moon then beg/plead for a compromise of only half of their demands.

NO!

I have a counter proposal for them. They will not like it.

Minnesota is going to require a lot more Somali police who are willing to shoot first and ask questions later.

Eventually one of these city progressive socialist dominated states is going to pass these infringing laws and decide to take the firearms by force. It’s not going to go like they envision.

All the new proposals Ive seen don't have a grandfather clause. I think California was the first state to implement a no grandfather clause on guns and mags a few years ago and should have been shut down but I don't know if it was ever challenged. Massachusetts has a new law on bumpfire stocks where if you didn't turn them in it could be 18 months to life in prison, the 18 months is given if you would roll on fellow non compliant buddy(s). I believe the proposed Minnesota bill was 99yrs in prison if you don't comply. This is the future for this stuff no door knocking just outrages imprisonment because they know gun owners are law abiders. Its not like you could take your contraband bumpstock or rifle or mags out to a public range.

true that gun owners obey the law, but even the most docile of dogs will bite you if you provoke them enough. :mad5

These same type people exist in surprising numbers in Texas, too. And at least some of them are more enlightened about the potential outcomes than we might think.

In social media discussions over the past couple of weeks which started over arming teachers in schools and predictably drifted to banning firearms, the ban enthusiasts constantly championed "saving lives" as the reason for confiscating guns. Then they readily acknowledged that the police would be needed for enforcement and one of them suggested calling out the National Guard for a house to house search. In the ultimate hypocrisy, they agreed that any armed resistance would result in bloodshed. They were more than willing to make criminals out of their otherwise law abiding neighbors and then kill them when those neighbors didn't bow to their wishes. What was the old line - "a special kind of stupid?"

It’s not just a special kind of stupid, it’s a special kind of evil. People who are willing to shed the blood of others to impose their vision of utopia, exactly deserve to have it be their own blood that is shed in the process because they are something in motion that is evil. Thus, THEY are evil. They are sanctioning murder by the state for political ends, and it reeks of Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Castro, Chavez, Big Daddy President for Life Idi Amin, and every petty two-bit dictator with a murderous intent, a venal disposition, and a shriveled heart. They always have enough strength of conviction to send others to do their dirty work, but seldom enough to get their own hands dirty. A 29¢ bullet between the eyes is the best I can promise them and all they deserve, because on the day they send those others, they will have abandoned their humanity in favor of the monstrous; and monsters must be destroyed before they can permanently change the landscape.

It’s my personal line in the sand. Come and take them, if you can. You won’t like the results.

A number of times on these pages, I have postulated a future in which the union devolves into autonomous regions of like-minded states - for exactly these kinds of reasons. It’s the natural extension of the expanding polarization of our society. The more radically anti-liberty some states become, the more that other states will move in the opposite direction, providing a haven for those who seek liberty. Author Kurt Schlichter has published two fictional novels - “Peoples’ Republic” and its prequel “Indian Country” - which describe exactly such a not-too-distant future, in which the left has commandeered the rule of law in some states, and the country eventually fractures into two competing nations: The People’s Republic of North America, and the remaining United States of America. Radio personality Hugh Hewitt said “Schlichter puts a whole flight of Black Swans in the air --each of them plausible-- and the result is a riveting, page-turner, and a demand from Schlichter for...more.”

If nothing else, they are a good read. But, sadly, I do believe that this is where the nation is headed if the left does not back off of its nullification of the Constitution; because that is the outcome of least possible violence and body count. The alternative is almost unthinkable.

Remember, these are the same Moon Bats that elected Al Franken (albeit after finding a bunch of ballots in the trunk of a car after the election during a recount). Have a niece that lives in Minneapolis and that place is lefty central.
