Campus Carry advocates - today, please:

1. Call, email, or fax Representative Aycock and Representative Pitt's office and ask their staff to preserve and support Senator Wentworth's campus carry amendment to SB 1581 (takes less than a minute to do):

Rep. Jim Pitts
Phone: (512) 463-0516
Fax: (512) 463-1051 (use FaxZero.com to send 2 free faxes per day from your web browser)
jim.pitts@house.state.tx.us

Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock
Phone: (512) 463-0684
Fax: (512) 463-8987 (use FaxZero.com to send 2 free faxes per day from your web browser)
jimmie.aycock@house.state.tx.us

Rep. Drew Darby
Phone: (512) 463-0331
Fax: (512) 463-5896 (use http://myfax.com/free/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to send 1 free fax)
district72.darby@house.state.tx.us

2. Pick three members of the House Appropriations Committee and ask them to preserve and support Senator Wentworth’s campus carry amendment to SB 1581. Their contact info can be found here:

To have three members randomly selected for you, visit this page:

http://www.campuscarry.com/home/contact ... s/#content" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To view all 27 members of the committee, click here:

Thank you so much for your support! We wouldn't have made it this far without people like you.

Yours truly,

Rep. Drew Darby ? Okie dokie ...
I sent to drew.darby@house.state.tx.us
CC to Trent (his chief of Staff) and Cheryl (His District Director)
trent.thomas@house.state.tx.us
cheryl.decordova@house.state.tx.us

Also sent to to
Rep Pitts, Rep Aycock, Strauss, and Sen. Ogden and 3 random Appropriation Committee members.
----------
Well I sent at 4:00 a.m.

My sister-in-law in food service at school and her daughter who will be in college one day just sent some too ... they dropped by for an early morning visit and I said hey .... y'all vote, or you will soon ... would you like to be allowed the right to prevent your own robbery or rape, or would you prefer to continue to be denied the right to try? ;-)
--------------------

I may contact the rest of Appropriations later after making the main calls
Pitts (chair of appropriations and author of the house bill)
Aycock (co-authour of house bill, also on appropriations, and my district's rep... he took the district when Dr. Suzanna Hupp retired)
and etc.

Cool, that was fun. I kept clicking the randomizer and calling reps until I hit some sort of daily limit for the Texas State Directory Service.

Just emailed Armando "Mando" Martinez. I went to EMT school with the guy many, many years ago. Jogged his memory on that a bit.

Faxing Aycock now.

Faxes sent to Pitts, Aycock and Darby. Calls to the "random 3" are next!

Don't forget to say "My wife/husband and I...", because every time I've said that, they write down both our names. Don't know if that counts as two or one, but it can't hurt!

Called three sets of folks, faxed the primaries and will fax more tonight from another email address (or two!).

Had the guy in Rep. Torres' office tell me "you need to call your own representative". :totap:

This is getting kinda fun, ain't it?!?

He's supposed to be one of the good guys, Torres is.

Some interns and staffers just don't get it.

Faxed Aycock, called Pitts, and emailed "Mando" Martinez.

My response would have been something along the lines of "Well, if he/she were on the committee, I would. But since he/she isn't, I'm calling your guy. Oh, and I may not be in your district, but I know plenty of people who are, and they aren't going to be happy when they hear how you handled this call. Do you think you live in a vacuum or something? Need I remind you that MY taxes pay YOUR salary? This call isn't to you, it's to your boss. Now how about you button your lip and record my concerns?"
