Colleges are places to learn, not die at the hands of attention-starved mass-murderers.

CURRENT TRIAL Virginia Tech Shooting – “Failure To Foresee”

#1

Post by RPB » Sat Mar 10, 2012 12:07 pm

Recent news of the Virginia Tech Wrongful Death Negligence Trial now going on regarding the 2007 Massacre which was foreseeable, but officials chose to look at bunnies and unicorns instead of facts, as well as legislation and incidents occurring in 2006 http://www.google.com/search?q=virginia ... =firefox-a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

========================================================================

Background:
That blog entry, was a response to a "Comment" I posted, on an OPINION Article about Colin Goddard's movie 'Living for 32'
regarding the Massacre April 16, 2007
My Comment:
RPB

Colin didn't mention the January 2006 legislation...
January 2006, prior to the shootings, legislator Todd Gilbert had introduced a related bill into the Virginia House of Delegates. The bill, HB 1572, was intended to forbid public universities in Virginia from preventing students from lawfully carrying a concealed handgun on campus. The university opposed the bill, which quickly died in subcommittee. Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker praised the defeat of the bill, stating, "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus

ALSO he didn't mention the ...
August 21, 2006 Incident, about which an article was in the school paper on August 31, 2006
http://www.roanoke.com/editorials/commentary/wb/80510" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He only mentions the April 16, 2007 incident, which emphasizes the failures of acting in 2006.

Personally, I hope the school gets hit hard financially, and see where the cost/benefit argument goes... "insurance rates/cost of allowing responsible adults to use tools to survive will raise insurance rates versus the cost of letting them die" argument.

I can't see premiums increasing, except if they continue to have to pay claims such as this for not allowing campus carry...

Then we can use the argument insurance will go up if you don't pass it ...Glad "they" thought of it.
