Reid Henrichs of the Valor Ridge YouTube channel had a message specifically aimed at the LEOs of Deerfield. I can’t post the video here because it has one or two cuss words in it, but in that message he urges all LEOs to arrest all politicians who pass any kind of confiscatory gun laws. He didn’t suggest what he thought those LEOs should do with the politicians they arrest, but I think the subtext was clear. Treason is treason, and traitors deserve a traitor’s fate.
The police in Deerfield are not going to do anything but what their bosses tell them to do. If they were, every one of them should have told the city council the ordinance was illegal and would not be enforced if passed.

The battle isn’t over, it’s likely a higher Illinois state court will override the lower court and let the ordinance stand.

Hallelujah! An Illinois trial court has struck down the Deerfield ordinance, finding it preempted by Illinois law.
A Lake County Circuit Court judge ruled Friday that the village of Deerfield overstepped its authority last year when it enacted a ban on assault weapons five years after the Illinois legislature declared such regulations the exclusive power of the state.

Judge Luis Berrones issued a permanent injunction blocking the village from enforcing its ordinance.
