Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

I think "Beto's" main purpose for running is to try to get the VP nomination. He got a sizable following in Texas and could help any other dem. try to carry the state. He's also got millions of campaign dollars left to contribute to the cause. The dems will go all out to flip our state.

Based on his criminal record and family history, if he does become VP then the President better be looking over his shoulder, constantly.

Apologies if this was already posted. I haven't read every post in this thread...

Reuters Admits They Sat On Bombshell Beto O'Rourke Story For 2 Years
The report, published early on Friday, documented O'Rourke's involvement in a hacker group named "Cult of the Dead Cow," and included multiple past writings from O'Rourke, some of which were described as "disturbing."

"After more than a year of reporting, [Joseph] Menn persuaded O’Rourke to talk on the record," Reuters reported. "In an interview in late 2017, O’Rourke acknowledged that he was a member of the group, on the understanding that the information would not be made public until after his Senate race against Ted Cruz in November 2018."

And the mainstream media wonders why they are no longer trusted. IMHO, the only thing worse than "fake news" is "no news" via withholding information that damages their agenda.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

I'm not so sure they do not know why they are no longer trusted. I think they have determined the benefits of advancing their progressive agenda outweighs the distrust they have fostered. A republic cannot survive without an unbiased free press and media.

There's a big difference between being somebody who called online computer bulletin boards in the '80's, and being a hacker.....
Kevin Mitnick has brain cells, drive and focus. Beto is deficient on AT LEAST two out of three there.....

The hugely influential Cult of the Dead Cow, jokingly named after an abandoned Texas slaughterhouse, is notorious for releasing tools that allowed ordinary people to hack computers running Microsoft’s Windows.
Just because it wouldn't be state of the art today doesn't make it less egregious.

I really hope Robert Frances gets the nomination. Can't wait to watch DJT make fun of him for being an artificial hispanic and for his greatest accomplishment being the losing of an election.

I wonder what his nickname will be:

Loser Beto?
FakeJose?

Bonkers Beto?
Break the Law Beto?
Boring Beto?

And for his supports I will just use the name I used during the campaign: Beto Bots, now that I know of his CDC roots it's even more fitting...

The Coffee Shop at the End of the World With Bobby Frances O’Rourke
We Have Only [Insert Number Here] Years to Save the Earth!
Bobby O’Rourke claims that we have only twelve, or eleven years and change, left...

It’s always urgent that we sign the latest agreement, implement the latest program and push more money into the pockets of the very people telling us that the world will end if we don’t.

Vote ‘Beto’ to save the planet from the people who have children, drive old cars and use shopping bags. The infidels who get their coffee plain black, for under three bucks, and use store bought soaps.

...the apocalypse is nigh and it’s only a matter of determining whether we will be reduced to cannibalism and socialism in 2030, 2040 or 2052.

Until then, have another mango espresso.
