Dicks Sporting Goods Hires Gun Contol Lobbyists

Post by rtschl »

They must really want to destroy the value of their company and stock...

Dick’s Sporting Goods, which announced in February it would no longer sell rifles to anyone under the age of 21, hired three Beltway lobbyists to lobby Congress for gun control, according to federal records reviewed by The Federalist.

The disclosure forms show Dick’s pro-gun control lobbying effort began official on April 27, 2018.

They might as well stop selling guns entirely. When word of this gets around, they’ll lose whatever they had left of the gun-owning market.

:iagree:

And to be clear, they will lose ALL of the business from gun owners. This includes much more than guns. Alot of us have kids that are into sports and we have other hobbies like golf, etc. I stopped buying from Dick's after their actions against civil rights in February. But before that, most of my spending there had nothing to do with guns.

Apparently these folks have forgotten who they work for. Their customers pay the salaries for their executives and the board. And they are actively lobbying against those same customers. They hope that this will win them more business from the tofu eating crowd. It might help them a little there, at least for a short while, but they won't offset the complete and total loss of business from gun owners. We have very long memories.

Let me be the first to say "buh bye Dicks. It was nice knowing ya."

They lost my business a long time ago. If I need anything sports specific I will be at Academy if not Walmart.
BTW, Amazon will finish them off.

I disagree. I think their current name fits just fine.

Honestly, there are a few other names which certainly aren't appropriate for this forum, but would appear to be quite fitting to senior leaders and decision makers of this organization.

We must be careful of course to cast the blame where it belongs which it at the highest levels of the corporate structure. I wouldn't be shocked if most of the good employees and managers throughout the company aren't opposed to the executive decisions to push an anti-2A agenda.

:iagree: Loss of sales eventually transfers into lost of jobs. If I worked at dICKS I would be concerned for my future.

I wish that I was a Dick's customer just so I could boycott them. I have never seen one of their stores. I think that we may have to rename this corporate wisdom "Yeti Syndrome".

Yes, for as long as they remain in business, which shouldn't be too long with upper management being of the commie persuasion....

Never been in one of their stores, and I sure wouldn't go now.
