Don't think it will pass the Senate's 60 vote cloture rule so it is fairly moot what the President would do. However, I have been surprised before.

President Trump's statement makes it more likely that the Senate will not pass the Bill. Why should a Senator risk an anti-gun vote knowing the President would veto it?

in the text of the bill it would require ICE to be notified if an undocumented person tries to buy a firearm if they are a criminal...( i am drastically paraphrasing)

Dont the democrats want to get rid of ICE???

The Republicans with 24 Dems got it in the final bill. Small victory in a large loss.

could be, i have found the text of the bills we see on official places changed more than once.
it gave me the willies with anger seeing the bill would notify ice, but then the nuts want to git rid of ice...its like watching a river thaw, all the sudden the flow speeds up and a chunk disappears.

It was added back in:

So some silver lining there. Did Hurd have anything to do with getting this amendment on there?

Agreed, but this is a blaring alarm that the commucrats (including the so-called republicans who voted for this) are dead serious and laser focused on obliterating our freedoms just as fast as they can.

Buckle up - it's going to be a rough year.
