FFL transfer form - where does it go?

#1

Post by txaggie »

After a legal transfer is completed and the NICS check is done, what happens to the information on the yellow form? Is it input in a giant database at BATF? Shredded?

Was thinking about the scene in the movie "Red Dawn" at the sporting goods store, just a random thought.

The FFL is supposed to keep it for 20 years. If he goes out of business, the forms are supposed to go to BATFE.

There is not supposed to be a national database of firearms owners. If one exists, it is illegal.
