True...its up to the individual

I took an oath when I joined the USMC
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Yah it stated the Constitution..but I took it as its people as well, not everyone can and will do that..and I honor that, but for those that do, such as the Police, they are a fine blue line that stands between Anarchy and my family

"sheeple" in my book are NOT the unarmed masses, but those that try to take self out of self defense and are so afraid of firearms they in a manner of speaking are saying "baaaaaaad baaaad things"

I would have died to protect this country, and I would die to protect my fellow citizens..its in my nature I guess, others don't have to have that, its up to the individual, but those that chose to go above and beyond and arm themselves have already taken a step towards being a "protector" of the people, not only themselves, but their loved ones, and others lovedones as well

I just pray when the time comes I react swiftly, correctly, and my aim is true

Very good article. This thread is one of the reason I really love this site. The different veiws and the voices of reason. I pray I'm never in the situation where I feel that I need to defend a strangers life from some evil doer. I just remember that "the Lord helps those who help themselves" and that is the reason I applied for my CHL. My families safety. However, I don't know if I could look in the mirror if the situation was where I could have saved someones life but didn't because I didn't want to get involved or was too afraid. That would be hard to live with.
Great thread!
