as long as it is a thick kydex and not super thin sheet, you are good to go.

It's a nice looking holster and your decision, as you will have to live with it, not me. Your needs are different from mine.

I offer, for your consideration, the Safariland ALS holster.

The belt slide attachment keeps the pistol close to your body. I like the positive retention afforded by the Automatic Locking system, not only for carrying openly, but keep the pistol in place while recovering my rockets over broken terrain. ;-)

A major consideration, for me, when choosing a holster is how easy is it to draw from using only one hand. I had the opportunity to use a loaner Safariland ALS holster while training at KR Training in April. I was surprised by how easy the pistol was to draw and how quickly I adjusted to the thumb release. Since you use your thumb to release the ALS, you are pushing against the whole holster. Thus, when drawing with one hand, with the holster off of the belt, the holster jumps off of the pistol.

I like to leave my pistol in its holster unless I am cleaning, training, or shooting. The Safariland ALS, especially with the QLS quick release, is near perfect for my needs. Your needs, of course, will vary.

I absolutely love my Black Arch Ace-1 Gen 2 hybrid holster for my Shield. I tried 3 different holsters and they were all uncomfortable to me. I can wear the Ace-1 all day and it seems to ride just right for me and it's very comfortable.

I usually carry a G19 and only carry my Shield occasionally, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a holster. I also wanted to try out appendix carry, so I bought the Blackhawk A.R.C. For less than $20, I got an ambi IWB holster with adjustable ride height and cant, belt clips for 1.5" and 1.75" belts, that is made out of an interesting polymer material (not kydex). It conceals well and works both in appendix and on my strong side hip. I'm really happy with it for the money. I have one for my G19 that I don't use often anymore (I generally carry it OWB now and it is really just a hair to long for appendix IWB) but also serves me well when I do use it.

My only concern with paddle holsters is that they tend to hold the gun away from your body, making it difficult to conceal. Have you noticed this with your set-up?

I use On Your 6 Design, just google it.
It is IWB, but I have used it for two years.
Easy on, easy off, conceals very well.

Edit:
Ahh, you're looking for OWB. I second the safariland holster; I've got a GLS holster from them for my shield and it works very well. I've also got a GLS for my full size 809
