I have only carried OWB since switching to .45's a few years ago. Before that, when I had .40's, I carried mostly OWB and only did IWB when the situation dictated, not weather or temperature.
BTW, still 99.99% of the time I'm concealed. I still can't get the feel for OC for myself.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

I always carry OWB, could never get comfortable with IWB. But I am a CCer, I am retired and don't tuck my shirt in for anybody. And I don't have to worry about printing or inadvertent exposure either.

Re: OWB for colder weather
The only holsters I have are DIY IWB similar to Crossbreed. I carry a SCCY (compact?) and I also don't feel it at all. Just like my wallet, once I got used the new pressure from it on my body, it disappears. Not uncomfortable to me. Also wear an undershirt.Lynyrd wrote:I've tried several IWB holsters and the only one that is comfortable for be is a Crossbreed. But even then, I always wear an old man style undershirt when IWB. It keeps the holster from touching any skin and I truly don't feel it at all. Now granted, that's with a small gun...
