Kinda like you leave out to catch skunks and squirrels and such without hurting them:

Only 7+ minutes for police to arrive. Obviously a high risk area with bars on all the windows.

Looked like HPD brought a 12ga. Nice choice and it proves when you have time, get a long gun.

Quesiton, you're in the store, and when he goes behind the counter what do you do? At that point, he displayed no weapon...
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

The occupants were much smarter than the invader!

This just made me smile.
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

As demonstrated by the occupants of the store, help everyone out the door. Get to a safe place while calling 911.

The guy figured out pretty quick that he was in deep trouble, and that hollyweird lied to him about shooting a lock on the door to easily open the door.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Even better, "The suspect was also on deferred adjudication for twelve years from another aggravated robbery that occurred on July 31, 2015. Case #478781-17". Society will be safe from this scumbag for a lot longer than the five years he got for this incident, considering he was given a chance previously and completely blew it.
