I ran across this website the other day and found it interesting, maybe some of you will as well: Props, Pistons, Old Jets, and the Good Ole Days of Flying
Lots of technical memorabilia, stories, and pics.
I recommend you start with this 1956 Flight Magazine article by a British airline captain who was invited to fly and write about the Dash 80 -- the prototype and daddy of the 707 airliner and KC-135 tanker. Besides describing his flight of the Dash 80, he makes some interesting comments about the Boeing plant, seeing pieces of the first 707s and 135s in production (none completely finished yet), and the ramp outside the factory being crowded with brand new B-52s.

I haven’t thought of the Caravelle in forever! I flew on one as a boy once. It was small, but a really pretty airliner with graceful lines.

You may want to check out this group. I recently went to an event they held in Dallas. They flew in some amazing WWII equipment:

Re: Aviation History Buffs
I searched for some information about a railroad spur north of Saginaw. Taliaferro Field was just south of modern day Hicks field. My brother lives off of Bonds Ranch Rd. The dirt he lives on was a gunnery range where Canadian pilots trained during WWI. I would like to shout out the Greatest Generation Flight Museum at Meachum. Been there for open house and hopped the C47 for Christmas lights. Think they are doing firework flights as well.

Could they use tinier print? Cool site but really hard to read without zooming.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.
