Daylight savings time

We need to change this old law. I saw that FL is trying to end the time change. I wrote to my state representative asking them to end the time change.

One, not often discussed, side benefit would be keeping El Paso on the same time as the rest of us for a good portion of the year.

Let's get rid of time zones altogether and use GMT.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

That is not a bad idea but it wouldn't fly. The government needs to get out of pretty much everything including our circadian rhythms.

The only benefit I see to DST is the Sun rises at 6:30 rather than 5:30 in the Summer. It's hot enough at 9 AM now.

I was always told daylight savings time started back when electricity first came around and was a way to save from using so much electricity because it got darker later which allowed people to use less energy by turning ont heir lights later than they normally would but today it isnt saving anyone anything. all it does is cause us to lose sleep every year haha.

Regardless, I love DST. I love coming home at 5 and still have several HOURS of sunlight left to play tennis, walk around the block, go to the park, relax on the porch, or whatever I feel like doing. What good is morning sunlight if you're still in bed or commuting, missing it anyway? Wasted sunlight. I wish they'd go on DST 12 months a year.

That is what the Florida legislation would do.

DST is not only stupid, it SUCKS! Pick a time zone and stay with it.

God made it get daylight so that we could get up and do our stuff. The same God made it get night so that we could lie down and do our stuff. "Nuff said!

Daylight savings time is nothing more than the government attempting to control every aspect of our lives, even our sleeping habits. It's one small aspect, but the socialist take control a little bit at a time, until everything we have and everything we do is under their complete control.

They control our sleeping habits.
How much money we make
They monitor our assets.
How much we are allowed to work.
What we eat. How we protect ourselves.
How we treat our illnesses.
How we travel.
Everything.
I suppose the "how much we sleep" part is relatively insignificant, but it bugs me that the socialist have taken so much control in every aspect of our lives.
