They aren't letting little things like the location of the shooting already having the laws in place that they will push for stand in their way.
Nor do they consider the snowball in Mohave Desert's chance to see additional gun control passed by the Republican majority Senate.

House Democrats can pass all the new bills they desire, none will likely pass the Senate nor the President's desk.

The reports I heard earlier (and again just now in fact) he was on the phone with her when he got the call.

More gun laws are needed in California as concealed carry laws do not prohibit the licensed carrying of a gun in a bar as long as the customer does not drink alcohol. Obviously that law needs to change.
Can't believe I'm actually biting on this bait.......

You mean to tell me that the shooter who ignored the CA ban on "high capacity" magazines would not have committed murder if there were a law against him having the gun in the bar?

Myopic and willfully obtuse has to be an excruciating way to go through life.

The dems have a few months to go to try to pass laws, Jan 3. Between now and then who knows what will come out. I don't look for much in the next two years. We didn't get reciprocity or silencers with our republicans, we sure won't with our dems.

Thank God the deputy didn't follow the philosophy that his number 1 priority was to go home at the end of his shift.

This hero's courage and sacrifice needs to be appreciated and he should be honored greatly. May he rest in peace.

Was not what I first read. However, if you are correct we do owe him a great debt.

He sounds like a true hero from the news reports.

Yes, Agree.
The Sheriff stated he ran into the club and engaged the shooter drawing fire away from patrons. Other off duty officers were in the club, but all were unarmed (according to the Sheriff). I believe they also shielded people, but were unable to engage the shooter for obvious reasons. I guess even LEO in California do not see the need to be armed off-duty or they were unable to be armed while in the bar/club. Someone from commiefor...err California might be able to give us some insight into possible reasons they were not armed (by statute, personal, etc,)

Club goers were also at Las Vegas massacre.

Club was country and western venue just like Las Vegas.

Was this some kind of copycat thing?

Shooters name and photo in his Marine uniform are everywhere. Let’s be sure to give him all the fame he desired in his death.

California does not allow drinking and guns, maybe that’s why the other law inforcement was unarmed.

I can't help but think that if just one more good guy had a gun in the club there may have been fewer deaths last night.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Helus was on the phone with his wife when he heard the radio call about the shooting.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Helus and a California Highway Patrol officer entered the bar by 11:26 p.m., six minutes after the shooting was reported, officials said.

Helus had been talking to his wife on the phone, as he often did during a shift, when he received a radio call about the shooting, Dean said. Before he rushed to the scene, he told her, “Hey, I gotta go handle a call. I love you, I’ll talk to you later.”

Why are people choosing to murder strangers? What sort of human doors this? Cruz and Lanza seemed like nutcases, but many of these people would've just been described as odd. The vast majority of odd people don't hurt anyone; how do we pick out the ones who will?

This isn't some psychopath lottery in which some random number gets called, but there must bea generic component. Cruz's brother is weird but not a murderer. Lanza's brother is just a normal guy. Stephen Paddock's brother seems odd but isn't a killer. Elliot Rodgers was just not right, but didn't have any siblings to compare. All three sets came from good homes, certainly better than a lot of kids who don't kill.

Twin studies have shown genetic links to violence and crime, but these people aren't knocking over a Quickiemart. This kind of calculating evil is terrifying to behold and defies normal thought on crime and criminals. I don't think that the people who say "I just never saw this coming" are all lying, though Lanza's father and brother WERE afraid of him.

This is something that needs to be understood and stopped.

There's something about Kalifornia that just ain't right? Something in the air, the water and/or the soil that just ain't right. Whatever it is, it affects the mindset of the residents.

Please, let's not Kalifornia Texas!

They are moving to Texas and their numbers is clearly effecting the polls. Senate seat was very close. Demographics is changing fast too.
