Had a Class A Misdemeanor got Deadly Conduct with two years of deferred adjudication back in April 2014. This April was 5 years from the initial conviction. Here’s my timline:

5/13/19: Request official copies of my Disposition from my charge
5/16/19: Received official papers in mail
5/24/19: Completed online application
5/26/19: Completed classroom portion online
5/28/19: Had fingerprinting done at Identogo
5/28/19: Completed course of fire qualification
5/28/19: Submitted LTC-101 and all official documents regarding my Conviction
5/29/19: Received email confirming receipt of all my documents
5/31/19: Online tracker shows all green with background pending
6/1/19: Tracker shows background complete / Print Pending
:woohoo

All this to say that I listened to a lawyer buddy and submitted every bit of paperwork that I could that involved my conviction and I believe it helped. Good luck fellas.

April 5th - Submitted Application and Fee
April 6th - Uploaded LTC 101
April 8th - Did fingerprints, received document confirm email
April 17th - Status showed up on LTC stat website
- Fingerprints under review
- Background Check under review
Update:
I think I found the reason for variations in timelines. It must have to do with the review process of criminal background. According to the TLTC Handbook GC §411.176 after the state background check, you are sent for a local background check, or geographical, which they have 30 days to respond.
May 17th - Day 30
So far no change. No letters in mail requesting additional information. I do have one arrest from 1996, case dismissed. No conviction. I provided the information during the application process.
:waiting:
June 4th - Week 7
Sent a request for Application Status via the RDS contact form this morning.
Still no request for additional info in the mail.

Rancid Crabtree wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 12:08 pm Good afternoon everyone. I’ve been reading different parts of the forum, a fantastic wealth of information. Figured I would contribute with my own timeline and information.
I have been traveling to Texas on business for the past several years eventually establishing residency. I’ve lived at multiple addresses across several states over the past 10 years. I was arrested for and plead guilty to misdemeanor DWI about 15 years ago in a different state. I have an LTC from another state.

3/12 Completed LTC Course
3/14 Completed online app w/DPS
Uploaded Fingerprints/LTC-100/supporting docs including court docs
3/14 I received the email that my info and docs were received and forwarded for processing
3/21 First online update; all green except
Fingerprints - under review
Background check – under review
05/15 – Fingerprints: under review, Background Check: under review.
I called this day to make sure the fingerprints were accepted (I was a bit suspicious of the quality of them at Identigo). Spoke to a very nice lady at DPS. She asked if I submitted supporting docs. I told I had electronically. She explained the prints are fine, I was “further reviewed” and we’re waiting on the background check to come back. I thanked her for her time and information and wish her a wonderful day.

05/29 Fingerprint: under review
Background check: under Review
05/30 Fingerprint status now Green
Background check: under review
05/31 All status now green except Print pending is yellow

Figure the timeline is about as good as I can ask for. Hope you all are having a good day.
One last updtate: 06/05/2019 - Print pending has been updated to "mailed".

I got excited this morning seeing the status has finally been changed.

So my next question is if print pending is still yellow, does this mean it has been accepted and approved? or could this also mean it still might be denied?Capture.PNG
I'm pretty sure it means you're approved and will be in the next batch to be printed.

Seems canned, not sure if it means much.

They opened my application on 4/8/19 and yesterday was 60 days. Called my state Representative and let them know. Had a rep from the regulatory division call and say they are behind and barely doing the applications for the first week of April. I was on background and fingerprint pending. Rep said they approved fingerprint and background. Hopefully everything will be green by next week

Took class 05/18/2019
Completed application 05/27/2019
Uploaded ltc 100 and dispositions with app - acknowledged email next day
Status updated on web site 06/04/2019
Fingerprints done 06/04/2019
Background under review 06/06/2019
Print pending 06/07/2019

I do have a colorful juvenile background and a DWI 20 years ago. It took around 4 months of rounding up paperwork. Looks like I'm lucky how fast its been, seems like its luck of the draw on how fast the DPS takes. I do have an uncle that was a trooper and Texas Ranger for 43 years - doubt that helped, but the DPS is the Texas FBI basically.
