Round Rock: Officers respond to report of subject with a gun, subject in custody

Post by oljames3 »

Usual poor reporting.
Roy Mosmeyer, 53, entered the ER section of the hospital and displayed a handgun. He is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"Displayed a handgun". As you stated, poor reporting. Of course, I'm curious what specific action took place that led to those charges. Probably never find out.

To call that Poor reporting is being kind. I am wondering if he was there for treatment and had his concealed carry on him. I have wondered at times what would happen to a concealed carry person injured in an accident if they took him in not knowing he was armed. The person carrying may fail to think of it if they are injured enough to be taken to the ER.

Given that it's on the city of Round Rock's municipal website, maybe they consider it 'public relations' rather than journalism.
