If I could vote for Gates, I would. HD 28 is in Ft. Bend County, west of the city, south of I-10. It kind of starts at a point in Katy, then angles south to Sugarland, Rosenberg, East Bernard, heads north toward Brookshire, then angles back to Katy. The Democratic contender, Dr. Elizabeth "Eliz" Markowitz, has been spending on commercials the past couple of days. She's trying to come off as a moderate, middle-of-the-roader. Meanwhile, the Dems are chomping at the bit to pick up the district because it's been Republican for ages, and two factors make them think they can: that the area has seen a lot of diverse influx in recent years (and they think that means they'll all vote Dem), and because with no incumbent the Republicans have six candidates running to the Dems one, Markowitz. They think that's going to dilute the Republican vote so much that the Dems have this one in the bag.

And what is the moderate Eliz Markowitz's stance on firearms and the 2nd Amendment?
Texas should immediately institute universal background checks when an individual goes to purchase a gun, and close the gun-show loophole, in order to ensure that such weapons are not acquired by violent criminals, abusers, or terrorists. We must institute red-flag laws that will allow action to be taken to remove weapons from the hands of individuals who have exhibited behavior that could be dangerous to themselves or others.

Our state should eliminate campus carry, abandon the idea of arming educators, and invest more money in providing mental health services to our students in order to reduce the possibility of another school shooting. Furthermore, we must address gun violence as a public health crisis and invest in understanding the causes of, and stemming, further gun violence.
Yep, Ft. Bend County voters, please vote Gates!

My wife just left the house to block walk for him. My 12 year old son wanted to go because, Robert Frances and Bloomberg are expected in the area. He really wants to give them a piece of his mind. Lol. But, we have a event for the super bowl of caring. Kid thinks if they have their way we will be a socialist dictatorship before he can be the 49th president and he could be right. Little bugger has plans.

Look at what happened in Virginia...of the 21 house seats that were flipped from R to D, a majority of them were by a razor-thin margin...R’s had held the seats for so long that lots of them just didn’t vote...while Bloomberg financed ads and get-out-the-vote efforts for the D’s...

Don’t let that happen here...wether it’s in HD 28, or any other district in Texas in the fall...

Houston members, if you're out and about in the Energy Corridor / Westchase part of Houston on election day, feel free to stop by my precinct to cast your ballot.

I'll be the (armed) election judge at my local polling location.

Nice job in District 28. What happened in District 148? That one just stinks. Roughly 7000 people from 148 participated. A state rep was determined by roughly 2150 votes. How many people live in that district? Lack of voter participation is how bad politicians get elected.
