Washington (CNN)A bill that would have banned assault or military-style weapons in Virginia failed to pass the state Senate Monday after some Democrats joined with Republicans to vote it down in committee.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 10-5 to study the impact of HB 961 rather than pass it and will instead revisit the matter next year, according to bill sponsor Del. Mark Levine.

For a rare moment, some democrats found some sanity. However, I do not trust that they will stand against the onslaught that will come their way.

NPR was going big on this today.

Had someone whose daughter was murdered in the Virginia Tech mass shooting on their broadcast to say a few sound bites about how she could not believe that the few dems switched sides to allow mass shootings to continue in Virginia.

This was about assault weapons and normal capacity magazines. Her daughter was illegally murdered with an ordinary handgun, IN A GUN FREE ZONE.

Control of the Staunton City Council flipped from blue to red after a surge in turnout among Republican voters, and at least one local pundit believes that Gov. Ralph Northam’s anti-gun efforts are to blame for the massive increase in voter turnout that propelled conservatives to victory.

Any hope for liberty and freedom to return without revolution has to be by retaking control of government city by city, county/parish by county/parish, state by state.
