80% lower receivers

#1

Post by Grayling813 »

Looking for advice on 80% lowers for building AR platform. Neighbor and I are going in together to get equipment for completing the lower.
We’re not going to build uppers just adding pre-built one.

Good sources for 80% lowers?

Recommended equipment?

5D Tactical is good. Equipment - no recommendation. I have a Bridgeport (clone) vertical mill, so didn't need to buy jigs.

Anderson lowers aren't fancy but they work. Looks like they are out of most offerings at the moment. A jig and a milling machine are very helpful.

I remember looking at 80% lowers a couple of years ago, the prices sure have gone up. I’m seeing completed lowers for about the same price as 80% lowers.

A few years ago, building an 80% lower it was a cool project or even a hobby... now-a-days the cost reflects the added value of anonymity.
