Antifa Cell in Texas Indicted for Terrorism

Post by rtschl »

Fischer King has some good highlights of the information in the indictment on the attack against DHS/ICE in Alvarado. I posted that at the bottom.

First, he was commenting on the Fox News tweet of their article here: https://www.foxnews.com/us/doj-brings-f ... ice-attack

The indictment, issued Wednesday and unsealed Thursday, charges Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts with providing material support for terrorism, attempting to murder federal and assisting officers and discharging firearms during attempted murders.

"For the first time ever, the FBI has arrested anarchist violent extremists and charged these Antifa-aligned individuals with material support to terrorism," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement.

"This was a planned and coordinated terrorist attack on the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, where armed extremists tried to murder U.S. officers on July 4th," he continued.

For those that do not have X/Twitter:

This indictment of an Antifa cell in Texas is an interesting read, and puts a stake through the heart of the idea that this is an "idea" and not an organization. In this attack, they shot a police officer in the neck who was responding to their assault on a DHS facility.

Some highlights:

1) The cell in question was in possession of over 50 firearms, acquired over time for use in attacks, including high-power rifles with "binary triggers" allowing for more rapid fire;

2) The group coordinated its activities using an encrypted messaging app - they had group chats to organize;

3) In the attack that led to the shooting of the officer, they exchanged details for days, sending each other maps, agreeing on which of the 50 firearms to bring, etc. They made sure to bring multiple rifles because "cops are not prepared for more than one rifle, so they back off..."

4) They organized a staging house where some of them stayed before the attack.

What is encouraging is that the indictment refers to unnamed co-conspirators - meaning a couple people flipped, and are cooperating with the government. Hopefully the government gets better at this, and starts moving up the ladder to figure out what entities organize the cells on a higher level, where the funding is coming from, etc.

There is a link in the Fox News article to the full indictment if you want to take a look - it's short, like 10 pages.

About time, for too long violent extremists who seek to overthrow the Constitution have been given a pass while the government declared the non-violent right to be the threat.
I expect that AntiFa's organizers/funders are going to double down and spread violent acts against the federal government, possibly even against state governments that support the federal's efforts.

From the FBI Director:

FBI Director Kash Patel tells Just the News that the bureau is "on the verge" of unmasking the command structure and financing for anarchist groups like Antifa that have unleashed unrest around America and has also identified potential new criminal activity related to the abuse of federal law enforcement and intelligence.

"We are looking at so many different leads on criminal activity by those who are in positions of power, and we're not going to stop until every single one of those is fully exposed," Patel said during a wide-ranging interview this week on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show.
