In today's times............

Post by JRG »

Ok, a question for you folks...........

With all that's going on in the U.S. and the world, have you changed anything about your daily carry? or daily preps? Bigger EDC gun? More capacity? Perhaps you now carry a bag gun in the car or truck when you are getting out to do errands?

I currently carry my Glock 26 MOS and a 19 round backup mag on my belt EDC. I have my pocket knife and flashlight too. I have extra mags in the car.

Just wondering if I should be doing more.

No changes. There’s always something going on in the world.

No change for me. I've been carrying a full size Glock 17 with a spare magazine, POM OC, one of my pocket knives, and depending on where I am going or the time of day, a flashlight. The only time this changes is when I go to the gym and switch to something more compact and light to fit what I am wearing. Usually this is a Ruger LRC, LCP, or a Glock 43.

What he said.

What i carry depends on where I’m going, and how long I plan to be gone. What might change is maybe getting back to putting some kind of long gun in the car if I’m going to be far from home for a while.

My mom died yesterday morning, and I'll have to go back to California soon to help my brothers clear out her apartment, etc. I'm more worried about what I'm going to bring on that trip, than I am about what I'll carry today.

So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing, TAM. I lost mine 20+ years ago. I still miss her.

I don't envy you having to go to California to deal with this. It has been many many years since we have visited there. I hope it is many more before we go again.

The only change that I have made is I now carry 2 spare mags in stead of 1 for whichever weapon I have on that day.

The only change I've made recently is moving the small trauma aid bag from my truck to the wife's vehicle, since we're mostly using her's lately. I just have to move it back to the truck when loading out for range sessions.

On the "To-Do List" is refresh the contents of one of my spare bags so there's always one in each vehicle, kinda like the extra pistol mags that are always staged in each vehicle.

I did make sure my carry insurance was up to date. With all these Soros DA's floating around you never know how many bogus charges you are going to have to defend yourself against, which can be absurdly expensive:

My carry ammo is about ready to be changed out.

I've been training hard with pistol, rifle, and FRTs, as well as getting some refresher medical training.

With the ShieldPlus 15 round mags an a Vulcan ACSS optic on top, I have a compact pistol that shoots like a fullsize, with a dot that when everything has gone wrong is still easy to find quickly. And I can still easily carry a fullsize pistol on top of that. I like carrying an AR pistol in the vehicle if the threat environment is elevated.
