What is the initial cost of reloading (decent reloading kit plus Media, Cases, primers, and Bullets).

How many rounds are needed to recover initial cost and start effectively saving?

Thanks,

Beiruty

Financial Comparison
Retail Reload
Qty (e.g. 50 rnds) 50 Qty 50
Cost $8.00 Cost $6.25

Just wanted to get opinions and or comments on the different brands of ammo you frequent shooters use. I shoot around 650-800 rounds a month, all my handguns are 9mm XD9SC Glock 26 and a Kahr PM9. I have yet to try any Blazer or Monarch blue box I have heard they are not very good and kinda dirty but they are the cheapest of all the 9mm I have found.
reload. save money and it's fun.
Does reloading really save you that much?? Considering the price to get up and running.
So if i wanted to reload what would be the start up cost with decent equipment? I think
I would enjoy doing it, but im just a dumb newbie so any info you experts can help me with
would greatly be appreciated.

I shoot Blazer for practice. No problems with it. My Taurus 24/7 doesn't eject the Monach ammo.

Best price I know of currently is from Natchez at $7.99/box. I buy it 1000rds at a time.

FWIW, I shoot Blazer aluminum case alot for practice -- several thousand rounds through my FN Hi Power. Never had any problems I can attribute to the ammo. Haven't bought for a few months, but I have always found it cheapest to buy it online (including the cost of shipping) by the 1000 round case, usually from Ammoman. Occasionally Natchezss.com or Academy will have a sale that makes it cheaper.

Would love to reload again, but don't have the space to set it up right now. :cryin

Academy has CCI Blazer on sale now for $7.99 per 50 through Saturday... but they don't have any at the Arlington, TX store.

Take a look at the threads in the "Reloading Forum". Great info there on getting started and cost savings.
