Question about AR rear sights...

Post by The Annoyed Man »

Doing my part for the panic buying ( ;-) ), I bought a carbine length AR upper yesterday to mate to my Bushmaster lower. The new upper has an A3 flat top receiver and a milspec front sight (pic below).

What I need to know is what is a good rear sight that won't break the bank. A flip up type might be cool if I decide later to mount a low power scope to this weapon and want to keep the iron sight as a backup. Keep in mind that I have aging eyes, so I don't know how small the aperture can be and still be useful to me. I'm also open to the idea of red dot or holographic sights, but I probably can't afford most of them.

Any and all suggestions (besides "sell me your upper") would be appreciated.

Thanks.

BSA Optics has very inexpensive red dot scopes.

Well here's what I bought...

I walked into the Bargain Cave at Cabela's in Ft Worth, where I found an ATN Ultra Sight Digital. It was a factory repair, like new in box. I paid $80 for it. MSRP on a new one is $199.00, so I think I did OK.
