Dropping off Packet vs. mailing

Post by y5e06 »

So, I happen to live in Austin and drive not too far from the DPS HQ on Koenig (I think).
I don't have the packet in front of me, so I can't verify the addy, but is it feasable and reasonable to go ahead and drop off my completed packet instead of mailing it in? Is there an office I can go to just to drop off?

thanks,
Morgan

I suggest putting it in the mail.

If you want to drop it off, go to Building I at the back of the Koenig/Lamar campus. The building is on Guadalupe, just past the fleet area of the campus. When I called that's where I was told to go, which is where I would have been today to give you a better answer, IF I wouldn't have had to pick up a sick kid from school just an hour after I dropped him off. See the campus map on the DPS website if my directions are too bad.

Pros/Cons vs. mailing I can't give you, other than one or two forum members have said the folks may be willing to give your paperwork a quick glance to see if you've dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's.

Thanks for the info HTH

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/hqmap_austin.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

building i
entrance is on north side of building off of Guadalupe.

It was real easy to do, they went through the packet and to be sure all is in order and passed it right on off to whom ever normally receives them.

I would recommend it if you are in the area

it looks like you are walking into a warehouse. When I dropped mine off the lady was nice enough to read it all and make sure I had signed everything and that it was all correct. She checked the photos and fingerprints while I was there.
I'm not saying it will speed it up but it was nice.

May not speed it up, but should at least help assure it won't get slowed down.
