The specs sound like the rundown of a Speer Gold Dot.

Cool.....but.......HST works for me and I'm sticking with it as long as it is available. If/When it is not available, I use Hydra-Shok.

I honestly know nothing about ammunition (well, I now know the basic difference between FMJ and HP).

I bought all my handguns in .40 cal S&W and buy only Winchester White Box Hollow=Points. Should I stick with them or consider this new stuff?

I don't think there is anything at all wrong with the WWB hollowpoints. They are basically Silvertips without the nickel plating. I have them in spare mags for my 9mms. I use Federal Tactical HST in my daily carry gun but in the car and home guns (high cap 9mms), I have no problem with the WWB.

Somewhere I can dig up some ballistics testing comparing the WWB 9mm HPs to Silvertips demonstrating that they are basically identical in performance. If it is that important I will look it up.

The big advantage of the WWB HPs is that they are cheap enough that you can shoot a few hundred through the pistol and ensure absolute reliability, and you can get a lot more practice with your carry ammo for the dollar. More often than not if I buy expensive ammo to carry, I wind up doing 99% of my practice with some other ammo. I like knowing the POI vs. POA and feel of the carry ammo.

Definitely look like Speer Gold Dots. I wonder what the price per box will be. Just buying the component bullets to load Speer Gold Dots is not cheap. I think I paid $31 for a box of 100 for my .45. At that price point, I am very selective about how much target practice I do with them.

I don't believe the SXT's are bonded, and there IS a line of Bonded Rangers already, I wonder if these are the same, or different. I have a box of those, I'll have to check when I get home.
The major difference I see is that the RA45TP is +P, which for me is a little bit of a thing. muzzle velocity for the RA45TP is 990fps. wonder what these guys fly at.

and yeah, just like the GoldDots, except the GD's have a 115gr. 9mm in +P+

two words: jacket seperation.
in my experience (ie. reading this board and stuff on The Box o' Truth) I would be much more apt to go with the premium stuff. but that's just me.
