Assuming an undershirt, would it conceal well under something like an business shirt with a collar, either tucked or untucked?
I'm asking so many questions because this is really piquing my interest. Because of my chronic back condition, even my most comfortable holsters cause me some additional pain after wearing them for several hours. Usually, it is a bearable pain, but on those days where I just can't stand it, I use my "tacti-purse" (a Maxpedition Fatboy-S bag) instead; but it bothers me that it could conceivably be snatched or something like that. If a shoulder holster could be worn in more ways than under a jacket (I'm thinking of summer weather), it might be a better solution than the bag for those days when a belt holster, whether IWB or OWB, just isn't working for me.
I think that Longtooth would be the one to ask about using a shoulder rig year round. If memory serves he packs in one quite often.
Well, I finally gave in and ordered one of my own. I had to order it as a list of components because I require the XL harness, but here's what I ordered:
Miami Classic XL harness (not available in the Classic II)
Miami Classic II left handed holster for 1911 (fits both my 5" and 3" pistols)
Miami Classic II left handed holster for USP Compact .40
Miami Classic II left handed double mag carrier for single stack .45
Miami Classic II left handed double mag carrier for double stack .40
The only problem is that the only component currently in stock is the harness. The rest of the components will become available in mid January, late January, and early February. I told them to just ship the whole thing complete.

Thank you Killerfly. Yes I do carry shoulder a lot. 1911 Kimber PRO CDP.
I know some that carry a full size steel 1911. A good rig is comfortable.
I will address a couple of Qs that were not in the thread.
TLynHughs,
Try Crossfires rig. I admitt that shoulder draw takes more practice than strong side belt. For Ladies I really recomend they look at shoulder carry. To depunk the myth of having a gun pointed at the person behind you I ask someone to stand behind me w/ my OWB belt holster. I drop a something on the floor & bend over to pick it up. Do that & your muzzle is hip high, lower abdoman area. No one seems to be bothered.
Ladies being assaulted can access a shoulder rig much easier than a belt, or sure nuff a purse carry. Teaching technique I call "Hug your Grandbabies." Elbows to side, arms crossed places your gun hand almost on the thumb break on the Miami Classic. Draw & keep strong retention of gun. Hand tight against rib cage, bent over some, & that gun is almost impossibe to take away w/o getting shot.
If you take a first hit & are hurt, a shoulder carry is easier to protect & retain than belt or purse. Again hug your grandbabies, go to the ground & try to roll under something. Same draw only shooting up. If you are hurt & reach for a belt gun or pruse it is much easier for an assailant to control an arm reaching to your side or into the purse than crossed against your chest.
Most folks that do not like shoulder carry usually have them adjusted too low. High & tight is control.
BTW Mom carries shoulder in a Miami Classic a lot. Church a lot. Miami Clasic w/ her Sig 232.
On wearing under a tucked shirt. Yes it works if the shirt is not fitted tight. Dont try it under White. Snap shirt is best for access & works good. Again High & Tight is the key. I have done it w/o my vests when I have to.
Folks either like shoulder carry or dont. If you take the time to get it adjusted RIGHT & give it a fair time to get used to It is a good carry method. You will not get it adjusted exactly right the first time. You will wear it a day or 2 then decide to adjust a little. You may decide you liked it & go back. You will need to make a different adjustment when going from a T-Shirt fit & cover w/ the tucked shirt to a under shirt & heavy cotton shirt & rig on top of that using a cover. Vest, jacket, dress coat. Some dont like to adjust them w/ different dress. I find the more formal I dress the better I like shoulder. It is an excellent addition when there is a real high threat level. Belt carry that you are used to. Extra mags on belt. Shoulder carry the same gun w/ 2 mags opposite. Doubles fire power. I have done that twice.
Make sure you get a double mag carrier on the other side. It works as a GOOD counter balance & the same weight on both sides a comfort issue as well as comforting (2 reloads)
Well my 02cents & some think it worth about half that.
Take what works & discard the rest.
I like it. Any other Qs & I will try to help.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I used to carry my Glock in a shoulder rig like this. First off, it was in my first year carrying and didn't think about the muzzle being pointed at my arm pit. It is a Fobus Roto shoulder harness with a double mag carrier on the opposite side. I still have it and only use it once or twice every couple of years. I just don't have many occasions to use this over my Blackhawk OWB or IWB holsters. As those that have experience with the roto-holsters have said, they stick out too much for good concealment or comfort.
