A&P mechanic looking for job

#1

Post by flynbenny »

I am a licensed A&P (Airframe and Powerplant), with a strong electrical skills, both troubleshooting and repair. My experience covers everything from fighters, to GA, and a little bit of the heavies. I have my own tools and a reliable vehicle. I am looking for work in the DFW area, aviation preferred but my experience and training transfer readily to other fields. Any opportunities or leads would be appreciated.

Have you talked to Lockheed-Martin at Carswell (NFW)?

Add me to the list of A&Ps looking for a new job. Current company will be closing the Houston station no later than this summer.

I've got 6 years on the MD-11, some time on the DC-10, 747 Gen Fam. 18 years on the C-130, and a couple years each on the 757, C-9 and Gulfstreams 3,4 and 5. Would like to stay in the Houston area, wife is in school and don't won't to relocate.

Yet.

Truman Arnold Companies, AKA TRAC-AIR, operates out of Texarkana Regional, and has a stable of corporate and charter jets, turboprops, and possibly some pistons too. It's out of the mainstream, but definitely worth checking into for the A&P trying to get a break.

Check out Port San Antonio. I know the Boeing Contract for the 141 was renewed...I think some work is new there coming with BRAC - engines on the 17 maybe. Out at the old Kelley Field. Best of luck and use all the resources you have (this forum is a great one)

San Antonio Aerospace is on my list to check out, I hear they are hiring (or will be soon) for a UPS contract. MD-11 and DC-10 experience wanted, Vets have preference. Don't want to move from Houston yet, but commuting to SA isn't as bad as some of the alternatives.
