Notice how they say that the reason for the ban is to save in health care costs. Since the government is paying for health care, they have a right to ban even glassware. That's how they banned guns in Great Britain. Wait... don't we have a 2nd Amendment? Well, the 2nd Amendment gives you the right to bear arms, so it will still be legal for you to own guns, but you'd have to demonstrate a financial ability to pay for any gun injuries and not be a ward of the state. Remember, a couple years ago, there was a ban on riding motorcycles without a helmet? There was an exception for those who had $10,000.00 in motorcycle insurance to pay for the cost of a motorcycle accident without a helmet. If you have cash, you may ride without a helmet. The same thing will go for guns. If you have gobs of cash, you may keep your guns. So, guns are only "regulated" (O.K. per SCOTUS) but not "banned". That means guns will be banned for the average person and only the rich will be able to afford to have guns.
This is how they do it in socialized countries. For example, in Hong Kong, China, you have to be a member of a gun club in order to get a license to own a handgun with NO ammo. Annual membership is $2000.00 USD per year. In Japan, you have to take a 1 day class on gun safety once a month on a weekday. In other words, you have to be wealthy enough to be retired. Guns are also ridiculously expensive in Japan and the police chief must approve you as "honorable" enough (rich and generous to said police chief). Less than 50 private citizens in Japan are wealthy enough to own handguns legally. You see the pattern? Guns aren't banned, but "regulated" out of the hands of ordinary citizens.
I invite you to vote this November and drive senior citizens to the polls if they cannot drive. I invite you to tell your friends and family to vote. Drive them if they are lazy. Offer to buy them lunch if they are cheap and lazy. Mail hand addressed letters to constituents of key campaigns (the O'Donnel campaign, for example). Use google maps and reverse lookup to get the addresses of people in these districts and mail them letters. Ask them to photocopy your letter and mail them to everyone they know. Mail them free bumper stickers. Suzanna Gratia Hupp (spearheaded the CHL law in TX as a member of congress) said that every bumper sticker equals 10 votes (per political studies)! Send emails to your friends and family. If we don't fight for our rights, we will be just like Britain, China, and Japan. It CAN happen here... if you let it. Remember Katrina!
Thank you and God bless,
