Yeah its the 1:10 and armalite suggests the 168 to 180 gr and will stabalize 200.I have not been able to find anything match grade above 168The Annoyed Man wrote:What is the twist rate on that barrel? If it's 1:10, you might be better off with 175 grain SMKs. Black Hills makes a 175 grain load that performs pretty well in my 1:10 barrels.
Very nice rifle, BTW.
Well, I know that Black Hills makes a match quality 175 load, because I've shot it with great results. I don't remember the price. However, I currently shoot a handload consisting of the 175 grain SMK over 42.6 grains of Varget, with CCI Large Rifle primers. Here's the results for that load in my bolt rifle with a 1:10 twist, 4 rounds, 100 yards:texjames wrote:Yeah its the 1:10 and armalite suggests the 168 to 180 gr and will stabalize 200.I have not been able to find anything match grade above 168The Annoyed Man wrote:What is the twist rate on that barrel?
