Is SB 354 DOA?

#1

Post by baldeagle »

I think it is. We've lost the battle for common sense laws and must endure at least another two years of irrationality. I've just about given up hope on America. I think the people of this country have arrived at a point where ignorance reigns supreme and the statists can do whatever they want to us. I fear for my children and grandchildren.

Probably can put 'Parking' on the critical list next as things are going.

Even if it's DOA, we do this again in 2 years. We pound at the doors until we are heard, we cast our votes, and we repeat if necessary.

It ain't over until CHL holders can be safe on campus.

not DOA, just lacks 1 (ONE) vote to suspend the rules.

I do wish the HOUSE would move forward on the Bill which at least "de-criminalizes" though.
And as soon as HB750 gets moved on, if it croaks, then we can slide the decriminalization bill in and I'd be happy, not thrilled jumping for joy, but happy. viewtopic.php?f=94&t=43941&p=533254&hil ... 78#p533254" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't think so.

My thought process is that Hinojosa is the one riding the fence.

I sent out an email to the RGV Tea Party to get them, their families, their cats, dogs, and parrots to call and ask to get 354 and 750 up for a vote.

It still "could" get to the floor "in due time" without the rules being suspended (anything is "possible" however less likely ) ... but getting 1 more vote to suspend the rules is a safer bet so we don't repeat in 2 years with an even weaker bill.

Neither campus-carry nor parking lots is dead or even in trouble at this point. It's way too early to get worried, plus things are going on I can't disclose.

Charles,

Mucho Appreciado for all you do. Good news that things are not as bleak as perceived over the past few days. Maybe all the faxes, calls and e-mails will help stay off any real dangers.
