Meh, if it was your first time shooting the gun you can't really say it worked for you. Just about everyone who has a 26 and a compact/full sized Glock reports that they shoot the 26 better. Try it with a gun you've put a lot of rounds through.

It could be "beginner's luck."

Consistancy is the key to accurate shooting. This also applies to other sports like baseball, golf, basketball, track and field, etc.

I was given the advice once that when leading singing at church services, that if I raise my eyebrows, I won't pitch it too high. It doesn't do a thing other than make you more conscious of the pitch. I wonder if the advice to breathe or not breathe could be the same?

Those breathing tips are fine. I would like to add one more: Make sure that after an exchange of gunfire you are the one still breathing.

I was more accurate with my 26 than I have been with my 23. I'll know for sure the next time I go and test the breathing while firing the 23.
