Looking for good gunsmith in Colling County, Mickenny, Plano

Post by Beiruty »

I have minor adjustments that I need to take care of on my AK74S.
Anyone can recommend a good and honest gunsmith in Plano, Mickenny area?

Here are the issues

problem 1:
The ak leveler stop notch is too tight and the leveler selector does not goes under the stop-notch and latches. The problem is that if the selector move a little up. The AK would not fire (critical problem in self-defense). The selector goes up all the way and latches in the safe position.

Problem 2:
The Bolt rides on the hammer, if the bolt is released slowly forward. Not an issue while firing or just releasing the bolt to go forward on it is own. Some says that is normal and not issue. Real AK do not do that.

There's supposed to be a decent gunsmith @ Gunmasters in Plano. I can't vouch for his work as I've not gotten any work done by him, just that he was recommended by a friend at work who's pretty "gunny".

The only gunsmith that I have ever used, were the guys at Rays Hardware. Its in Dallas. Sorry, you asked for something a bit further north...cannot help ya there.
