I don't think NY allows non-resident CCWs, so yours might be invalid now. You should know better than I would on that issue.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

NY's negative attitude toward handguns goes back to the Sullivan Act and beyond. Like all reactionary solutions by politicians they never deal with the real problem or issue. It's like banning trees to prevent arsonists from setting forest fires. Oops! I shouldn't give the Pols ideas :banghead: .

In NYC, most of it started in 1911 [ironic?] with the Sullivan Law. Some claim that this law was passed to keep handguns out of the hands of a certain immigrants. Since that time, it has gotten worse. Every time there's a high publicity crime involving firearms, there is another opportunity to pass more laws. It's that slippery slope that some people talk about.

I have a concealed carry permit from NY, have it since '96, I lived upstate in Warren county in the Adirondacks and that was the only kind of pistol permit they gave at that time.

I knew some upstate folks a while back...farm folks...liked hunting, fishing, outdoors stuff. Good people.
