218 carry by retired LEO

Sort of off topic for the CHL forum, however...

Anyone familiar with agencies that are certifying retired LEOs from other agencies in TX? I have a retired friend that would like to be legal.

Actually, I do not see why we could not run them through the range portion and certify them. I understand that some other states allow non-LEO ranges to certify their retired LEO's under 218.

Should this question be posed on a different section of this site?

Texarkana PD occasionally has qualification courses for retirees.
