I believe whether the sign is legal or illegal would be your defense in court. As far as being arrest for carrying where you aren't supposed to, from what I have read on this forum you can be arrsted for just about anything the cops want to arrest you for. Whether it will stick or not is up to your lawyer.
Now some of you may have unlimited resources for bail bondsman, lawyer fees, and for taking off work to go the court. But I do not. So if see a 30.06 sign it is legal or illegal, or they tell I can't carry a loaded firearm into the gun show. I am also told I need to step over to the table to let the nice officer check my weapon, I am going to do it. Then I will reload it when I leave.

Re: "30.06" at Amarillo Gun Show
The Amarillo Civic Center is owned by the City of Amarillo, so even if it was a proper posting, it would still be invalid unless they decided to have a meeting in the building during the gun show.
I should also point out that the gun I was carrying never came out of my pocket or it's holster. If I was going in with the purpose of finding a new holster or something else that would require me to handle my gun, I would have had it "secured" by the officers.
At a previous show, I did find a holster I wanted to try but wasn't expecting to find, so I left the show, went into the bathroom, unloaded the gun, went back and had it secured so I could try the holster out. I have never removed a loaded gun from it's holster while at a show and no one else should either.

I wouldn't disarm because of an invalid sign but I would spend my money somewhere more tolerant of my Constitutional rights.

These signs are at every gun show at the Civic Center. They're put up by the police and the Civic Center, not the show promoters. I don't usually buy anything at the shows anyways, but it's nice to be able to fondle so many firearms without having a salesperson staring at you from behind a counter asking if you're done yet.cbr600 wrote:I wouldn't disarm because of an invalid sign but I would spend my money somewhere more tolerant of my Constitutional rights.

Are there any gun shows in Texas that allow CC?
