Book Description

When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms,” they also added the admonition that this right SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening?
History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty—but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything.
They are wrong.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. In doing so, he takes on and debunks the common myths and outright lies that are often used to vilify guns and demean their owners:
The Second Amendment is ABOUT MUSKETS . . . GUN CONTROL WORKS in other countries . . . 40 percent of all guns are sold without BACKGROUND CHECKS . . . More GUNS MEAN more MURDER . . . Mass shootings are becoming more common . . . These awful MASSACRES ARE UNIQUE TO AMERICA . . . No CIVILIAN needs a “weapon of war” like the AR-15 . . . ARMED GUARDS in schools do nothing, just look at Columbine . . . Stop FEARMONGERING, no one is talking about TAKING YOUR GUNS AWAY.
Backed by hundreds of sources, this handbook gives everyone who cares about the Second Amendment the indisputable facts they need to reclaim the debate, defeat the fear, and take back their natural rights.

As it was in 1980. I'd like to see a constitution-based 3rd party rise up. But so far, that ain't happening. Sure the libertarians make their noise every couple of years. And the tea party has stuck around a lot longer than I would have guessed. But until either group (or any other group) can attract enough of a following to actually turn some things around, we don't really have a choice.anygunanywhere wrote:RoyGBiv wrote:Don't worry, the GOP will save us.TexasCajun wrote:Rather than a constitutional reset, a la the civil war, I think we're heading toward a course correction similar to 1980. Recently, the left has had to rely on the low information voter for affirmation. They came out in droves in 08. They showed up again in 12, but in smaller numbers. I interpret that to mean t that it's getting harder to mobilize a genuinely disinterested electorate. The recent gun debate is further proof of the difficulty that they're having. The administration tried to build momentum & support for their measures and couldn't pull it off. If we hold to our principles & hold our elected officials to those same standards, then we've got a chance to swing this the other way. The only thing that will stop us is if we continue to allow our guys to get drawn into debating their frivolous issues.![]()

I don't want to see any type of Civil War/armed Revolution or what not. But a bloodless breakup might be in our future. I don't know, Prophesy isn't my forte'. I do believe that we need to dig our feet in the sand and state up front, not one more step back. It is like standing up to a Bully, if you do it initially and forcefully, the issue is usually relatively bloodless. But if you wait until you just can't take it anymore, the bully is far more difficult to defeat. Case in point is the Balkans. Sarajevo was a tourist destination in 1985; even for us Soldiers, excellent wine, partying and very friendly people. If you all remember, the separate states wanted to leave peacefully and slowly went to where they arrived at. When I went back in late 1995, it had a far different character. Those same peaceful people were filling ditches. I would not want to see this happen to the U.S. But, what happened to the former USSR, as it broke up, might be the possible future. Maintain a common defense perhaps, but there is a great divide in this Nation that I don't see being able to come together; not without one side or the other absolutely surrendering its beliefs or mores. So dig in now, no retreat, saves blood later. The opposing elements won't go into that point, because they know and understand that we won't give in, even to the most minute of their demands. Hope this wasn't too disjointed...
Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt"

Once you come to depend on the handout, "salt" "corn" "bread" have all been used in this allegory, you sing the song, dance the tune, that is composed by he who provides for you.TexasCajun wrote:JALLEN wrote:"Whose salt I eat whose song I sing."
Any tax revenue that is not used for the general welfare of the Nation, State, Municipality, but instead becomes redistributed as income or pork barrel spending becomes the salt. Those who accept it, individuals or corporations, will be dependent upon the "state" for their continued wellbeing.

If it hasn't happened by now, it never will. What exactly will it take for a reset?
We had individuals running for office a few years ago who outright lied and basically said what people wanted to hear to get themselves elected and then, re-elected. The majority of the country either couldn't discern the lies, or didn't care. They just wanted their share of the wealth from those who actually earned it. I believe that is called GREED. And even the greedy should know greed is wrong, despite what 'Gordon Gecko' said in "Wall Street".
We have the IRS who obviously followed someone's -ORDERS- to go after groups whose ideals mirrored that of the Founding Fathers of this country. Clearly those who did the actual work of going after Tea Party, Christian, Jewish and Republican groups BEFORE the election were NOT doing so on their own initiative. The IRS Director visited the White House over 150 times for what? The IRS workers union was being led by those who have a known history of liberal agendas. So we can see the IRS is corrupt, or at the very least, has had and HAS corrupt leaders who make political decisions unfairly targeting the innocent. And all this seems to have been done just prior to the election, on behalf of someone's campaign. Imagine that.
The FBI seems to have not even started their investigation of the IRS and also took WEEKS to show up on-site in Benghazi. By the way, this also seems to have occurred just prior to an election and on behalf of somone's campaign. Imagine that too! Such coincidences! Then we had that little gem from then FBI Director Louis Freeh who indicated that crop dusters are incapable of spreading powdered anthrax even though that is the exact function of crop dusters, to spread chemicals in LIQUID/SPRAY form over large areas of land. So we see how well the FBI is working. By the way, it was the CIA with help from the commercial airline industry who caught several muslim slimes who were attempting to use crop dusters to spread anthrax. Then there was Waco... So to protect the children who -allegedly- were being abused, someone ordered an assault on a Sabbath keeping CHRISTIAN community who had broken NO Laws and when they defended themselves, the ATF decided to SAVE THE CHILDREN by using incendiaries to burn the entire compound down. They deliberately BURNED ALIVE all the men, women AND CHILDREN. Yeah, real brainiacs and heroes over there. Who ordered that murderous massacre of children, AND innocent men and women? Is that an indication of how they and homeland security are going to protect us? With protection like that, I don't need enemies!
If the SAS, SEALS or Green Beret's followed the FBI/ATF example, they'd never rescue any hostages!
The DOJ doesn't seem to have much inclination to enforce the laws of this country. It seems to have received orders from 'someone' to NOT prosecute lawbreakers of various types and have gone so far as to seemingly gained illegal access to phone data from the AP, at least one Fox reporter and their families and associates. All this from the Department of Justice? And let's not forget the Fast and Furious scandal! Is it me, or does it seem these things also seem to have occurred just prior to an election. Very coincidental! Just a question, but why does Eric Holder refer to Jerusalem by it's MUSLIM name? Is that a clue as to HIS mindset? Hello? How about we see if he (and others) have a problem calling the Bible -HOLY-? Freedom of speech is guaranteed in this country, or should be. However one's mindset can sometimes be determined quite easily...
The Dept of Homeland Security also seems to REFUSE to enforce the laws of the land. The U.S. Border Patrol have sued them in attempt to FORCE Homeland Security to allow the Border Patrol to arrest, detain and deport ILLEGAL aliens. Why does the BP have to SUE Homeland just so that they can do their jobs. Shouldn't SOMEONE at homeland be fired just for this? Seems Homeland is too busy buying all up any and all ammunition they can, and for what purpose? Weren't they also caught purchasing targets depicting civilians, children and old ladies? Is it Homeland Security who refuses to finish building the wall to secure the southern border? On whose orders have these outrageous actions occurred? As if anyone believes they really need more ammunition than our Armed Forces! Who are they going to use all this ammo on? Are they going overseas to fight a war? Or are they expecting us to be overrun? I can guarantee Homeland won't be defending squat if our southern borders are overrun en masse. And let's not forget those selfless heroes in the TSA who protect our nation from terrorism by groping men, women AND CHILDREN, who humiliate our elderly and took naked pictures of female and male travelers for their own amusement. Yeah, real defenders of the people over there.
The Director of Homeland security even published descriptions of possible terrorists for our protection! Uh, but said descriptions seem strangely similar to Tea Party, Conservative Christians who believe in less government, lower taxes and the right to bear arms. When exactly did these things become illegal? Of course we all know all about those evil conservative Christian/Jewish Tea Party homicide bombers... oh wait, there's NO SUCH THING! Homicide bombers seem to come only from a certain 'peaceful religion'... But those don't count, do they? As someone said, "this is the largest Muslim nation on earth" and we have "57 states"... Seems to me we can ascertain the REAL mindset of anyone who makes such gross errors in pubic. No AMERICAN BORN school kid would make such mistakes. hint hint. This IS The LARGEST CHRISTIAN Nation on earth, and as any school age American born child knows, we have FIFTY, that is 50 states. As someone wrote, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks... Anyway, why is that lady still the head of Homeland Security with such a profound lack of judgement as she has. I would have said seems to have, but she made the decision to describe possible terrorists as she did, so she simply proved she doesn't have the proper judgment required to keep the job. Has ANYONE called her to account for all this mess yet?
Then there are all the Democrats in Congress and the Senate, Harry 'the liar' Reed comes to mind, who have no qualms about lying to the public and even their own constituents. (Again, most of this during an election period!) They even go so far as committing slander and lying on the floor of the Senate and using it's 'protections' to do so. Seems to me the Senate floor is where outright deliberate lies and slanders should NEVER be tolerated. That SHOULD be grounds for losing your seat! But hey, I guess the standards in the Legislative Branch are about as low as the water level in a toilet bowl. I daresay our Founding Fathers would have been disgusted by such dishonorable behavior.
And now with the current proposed immigration bill, we even have REPUBLICANS and alleged 'conservative' groups who are outright lying to the public stating that the borders WILL be secured and the mistakes of the 1986 immigration bill will NOT be repeated. They all know FULL WELL that the current bill will NOT guarantee secure borders and that the mistakes of 1986 WILL be repeated. This bill WILL harm business and the economy yet they still have the gall to support this legislation? Why are they doing this? Does the NSA or the Administration have something on them? Are they just doing this to get the Hispanic vote?
If you can't vote for what is right, then you shouldn't be representing the people. Our Texas Senators are doing it right. Too bad the same can't be said for most of the rest. Hopefully there are still enough Congressmen and women in the House to do what is right and propose a bill that works or at the very least, NOT let the farce of bill from the Senate see the light of day ever again.
And by the way, I AM HISPANIC, but thankfully not stupid! Which is why I'm a Republican! And I know of several other HISPANICS who feel the same way as I.
As far as I'm concerned, if Rubio doesn't change his ways, he shouldn't be a Republican. Same for McCain and a few others I don't need to mention. The terms sell-out, and traitor come to mind.
Those in Washington D.C. are NOT there for themselves, they are there to SERVE the people of the United States, with HUMILITY, SINCERITY, and HONOR.
The same goes for those at all levels of government.
If they are unwilling to act thus, they should resign immediately and let better people serve this nation.
Even the Judiciary Branch, at all levels, even the Supreme court, are making POLITICAL decisions instead of decisions based on ESTABLISHED Principles, specifically the Constitution of the United States.
We also have all these revelations of how the NSA and the FISA Courts seem to be doing a massive wholesale data grab from United States citizens, the very citizens they are supposed to protect and whose privacy they and ALL BRANCHES of the government were supposed to hold sacred. And when questioned, they indicate they don't do it 'willingly' and that it is NOT possible to listen in on live phone conversations and data streams on the internet? Who exactly believes all that? Who is fooling who and who is lying to whom? Really? Seems to me the only ones who didn't know what was going on, were the American public! Of course China, Russia, and countries like North Korea already knew our capabilities, as did our own tech companies. The feigned outrage by other countries after this all became public is just that, face saving feigned outrage. The privacy of American citizens has sunk to a much lower priority since President Bush left office. Was it me, or did we forget that NSA staffers got caught listening in on calls between our servicemen in Afghanistan/Iraq and their wives while they made bets on who had the hottest sex talk? And wasn't that in 2008? Yet the NSA chiefs have the nerve to lie to the public and indicate they do have not the capability to listen in on our phone calls and internet communications live and do not do so? Who's kidding whom? There's a joke about urinating and rain, but I won't go into it now...
We have someone leading our military who is more than willing to emasculate it by drastically lowering troop and spending levels, and killing defense initiatives even more than what's already been done. They're even moving our central command to Hawaii, which is about as far away from the REAL trouble spot in the Middle East as possible. Just an FYI, but we won't be at war with China or Russia anytime before Armageddon. Just saying. Anyone with at least ONE eye open can SEE where the real threat is. The shooting wars have already started and everyone knows where it is. It's in the Middle East. And all this on top of the stupid, idiotic, moronic and outright self-defeating and dangerous rules of engagement imposed by this administration on our brave and selfless war fighters, seemingly at the behest the State Department. Ah yes, the State Department...
The State Department, who for whatever reasons, refused to support and defend their own people in Benghazi after they had repeatedly asked for help BEFORE and even DURING the attack. Who gave the orders to REFUSE to send help prior? Wasn't that the former Sec. of State? Why isn't she up on charges. People died on HER watch when SHE refused to give help when she was asked! Who gave orders to NOT send in help during the attack? Who caused all the procrastination for HOURS DURING the attack? And where was EVERYONE who had the authority to send help? What the hell was SECDEF doing. We already know his reasoning, and it's based in cowardice. This incident should have cost him his job. Why didn't he send military help? What orders did that ACTUALLY issue, IF ANY?
We don't know because the most transparent administration in history seems to be riddled with department heads who either plead the Fifth, lie, or actually have the nerve to plead ignorance under oath.
In corporate America, people are FIRED for NOT supervising their people and NOT knowing what they are doing. I guess if you work for the government, you can apparently tell everyone you're an incompetent who doesn't know what is going on under his watch, keep your job, and be guiltless.
If someone has the gall to act like Sgt. Shultz and effectively say 'I know NOTHING!!', then they need to be fired for incompetence. Offering to get answers via investigations which have have the speed and intensity of paint drying should also be a fire-able offense.
Let's not leave out our state and municipal leaders in this country, some of whom have enacted practically draconian gun laws which have served to do nothing except to increase crime. And yet they have the nerve to continue to push for more of the same when all evidence clearly prove such restrictive gun laws to be GROSSLY INEFFECTIVE.
ALL EVIDENCE clearly proves that restrictive gun laws do NOT decrease crime OR hinder criminals.
By definition, CRIMINALS DO NOT OBEY THE LAWS so why should THEY obey gun control laws? Well as we all here already know, they don't!
So what exactly does it take to have a 'reset'?
In my opinion, any of the above should have been enough. Especially when ALL of the above is already or has already occurred.
In my opinion (and opinions do vary), we're all going to he11 in a hand-basket.
The last straw is when this country betrays the Israeli's for the sake of 'peace' in the hopes of appeasing a certain peaceful religion whose people surround the Holy Land. Seems to me the Arabs have lots of free land they could give away to the Palestinians. But of course, a home for Palestinians is not the goal. The real goal is the elimination of the State of Israel, and after them, the elimination of the United States of America. As if these goals have not already been PUBLICLY STATED by several Arab countries already!
The United States is actually going to support a a rebel group in Syria who allies itself with Al Quaiada and who have just beheaded (this past Sunday) several men, including a Catholic priest. And what about the peaceful Muslims? Well, the peaceful Muslims were busy watching and cheering the be-headings as they filmed and took pictures of the event with their smart phones and cameras.
Anyone who still believes after that incident, that winning hearts and minds is the way to win a war, should imagine themselves as one of those victims. I'd be willing to bet the victims of this type of violence from this 'peaceful religion' would have NO QUALMS about collateral damage, just as we had none during WWII and achieved victory and even a complete change of heart of two great FORMER enemies, Germany and Japan. THAT is how you win a war, and change hearts and minds!
You want to win a war? Fight it as we did in WWII with NO regard for collateral damage. You want to lose a war? Try to win hearts and minds and ONLY go after the head of the snake, because as we all 'know', the civilians are innocent! Just like the ' innocent civilians' who shouted and took pictures of the aforementioned be-headings. Just like the 'innocent civilians' who do NOT report homicide and IED bombers to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and allow our brave servicemen and women to be maimed and killed. Just like all the ' innocent civilians' who danced in the streets on 9/11 all over the Arab world and who still do so whenever Americans or Jews are killed in numbers.
Take a good look, because that's what's coming.
We now have an administration who seems hell bent on appeasing and DEFENDING a new axis of evil. A people who have no qualms about publicly stating their hatred of Americans, Jews and Christians.
We now have a government in power in all three branches who seem to be doing everything they can to deprive it's citizens of their Constitutional rights, liberties and even their lives, though with GREAT SUBTLETY.
How subtle are they? Lately, not very!
How subtle are serial killers? Very.
So are liars who have no concern for the people they are charged with SERVING, and whose best interests they vowed to represent and uphold and who seem to have taken leave of their senses and all form of justice and responsibility.
They say things like "We are NOT at war with Islam!"
"Islam is a peaceful religion."
"It's the radical Muslims who are the problem."
Democrats in the Administration, Judiciary and the Legislative Branches are selfless and always make their decisions on behalf and in the best interests of their constituents.
Yeah, right.
And what are we doing about this? Not much!
Reset?
It seems to me it's already too late.
We're all about to descend on a roller coaster ride to he11.
Literally.
I guarantee we won't enjoy it.
If anyone thinks what is going on now is bad, wait for it, because it's about to get worse, much worse.
Conservative and the Judeo-Christian values this country was founded on are literally under assault. If anyone can't see that, they are blind.
All that is left is for Christians and Jews to be hunted down. And if people think it won't happen. It already is happening, in Arab lands. There is little to no tolerance for Christians Jews or Americans in Arab lands. And that same mindset has infected Democrats and about half this country, and is getting worse.
I don't see much hope. There is always the next election, or is there?
