Two suspects were waiting for the judge in a car at a bank parking lot, he said. One of the men got out of the car and opened fire, hitting the judge, Mr. Mavromatis said in a news conference that was broadcast live on WTOV.

The judge returned fire, and a probation officer nearby also opened fire at the attacker, killing the man, [city manager] Mr. Mavromatis said. The other suspect was taken into custody.

Trying to kill the judge is terrible. But one line for this article really set me off.
Abdalla said he is aware of threats being made in retaliation for killing of the shooting suspect.
It true, it takes the matter to a completely different level. Followed to a logical conclusion, it says that noone has the right to defend themselves against a deadly attacker. I can only guess about the cause of the death threats.

So the judge was overseeing a civil lawsuit that his would-be killer had initiated:

That's a good way to guarantee you'll lose two court cases.

I wonder what this judge's opinions are about the rest of us keeping and BEARING arms or if he thinks that only certain people should have that right.
