hey guys, ran into a little speed bump here while filling out my CHL Application, my question where do they pull our employment history from, I have entered all my work information, everything that is on my SF86... and I don't get it, it just keeps telling me
"Error
All information is required; no interval or break in reported years."
any thoughts or Ideas, really trying to get the ball rolling on this application.

Re: CHL Application - Employment History
Is there a period of time that you were unemployed during the period of years cited? If there is you must account for it on your application. My wife ran into the same thing, steady employment until she married me (both in our 40s, she with a young child), and then stay at home mom for several years, and then back to work. She just filled in the times she was actually employed outside the home on the app and left it at that, and they came back and wanted "unemployed" or something like that for the periods when she was not actually employed, so she changed her status for that time frame to "Stay at Home Mom" and they issued her CHL.

Same issue since I used to freelance a lot. Put in self employed or unemployed for the gaps between jobs. They're looking for an unbroken timeline.

My first thought is, "Are there gaps?" Check your dates.Natedz wrote:"Error

Texas DPS requires a complete work history with no gaps during the reported years. If you were a student or unemployed, you need to enter something for those times also, rather than leaving gaps. If DPS has different rules than the Feds, my advice is to follow DPS rules when completing DPS forms. Respectfully.
Re: CHL Application - Employment History
DPS does not pull your employment history from anywhere. ;) As stated above, no gaps on your application. Good luck
