Fight back with improvised weapons. Yes, because I'd prefer improvised over actual.

Even more ironic was the narrator's comment a few seconds later telling people they need to always be prepared. Really? Be prepared, but take away ...

Re: at manufacturing 2+ weeks
Don't ask why, but I'm still checking the web site for an update even though I've had my plastic for over a week. I don't think it's ever gonna say mailed!

Re: July 2011 Applications
Another July classmate here.
My wife and I took the class July 9 and we got the final paperwork mailed on Thur. July 14. We also had applied and paid online before the class.
Got the return receipt from DPS showing they rec'd it on July 18.
Followed the status on the website and even as of today ...

Re: at manufacturing 2+ weeks
Fantastic! Me too! Postmarked the 27th and received today while the web site still shows manufacturing.
Got home today, had dinner, checked the status page, checked this site and was whining to my wife, "he got his" and she says, "oh, yeah...you did get something in the mail from DPS...I put it ...

With a clean record, BG check would only take a few days. Then another "few days" for CHL in Manufacturing Pending then Mailed and finally, Wally Walk. http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/smileys-91853/aiw/yahoo.gif

Outwardhound; I literally carried in my pocket, no pocket holster. I did improvise to avoid "printing". However, I like the Mika suggestion.
I think a pocket holster is a necessity, Mika suggestion is indeed good...makes me nervous without having the trigger covered, esp. a striker fired gun ...

Re: How long does it take for License status to change?
Took about four days for mine...I think you might have added a few days due to the mistake of sending in the instructor application. I'd give them a call - they seem very polite and willing to look up your info and tell you where you're at. Good luck!

Re: 1st Time Out w/CCW
CHL arrived in the mailbox Saturday. Carried handgun (concealed along with CHL) while taking my dog for a walk in the neighborhood after dark that evening. Live in a nice neighborhood & Sage is a Doberman, lol. Anyway, wanted to get "the feel", and was a comfort. However, this afternoon wife & I ...

Re: DPS Processing Times
Well, everything was going very fast until Manufacturing. Status shows manufacturing 7-11 and now it's been there for 14 days. I sent a question about time it takes at this point and they replied immediately that I would probably receive CHL in 7-10 more business days via mail. Maybe my license ...
