Well, since no one really answered the question, I thought I'd close the loop on this. There was no posting at the gate to the cookoff area, and it appeared that CC was allowed. I did not carry however, since I wasn't sure; plus I may have had a drink or two ;-)

Houston Rodeo grounds?

Hey, does anyone know if we're allowed to carry on the grounds outdoors where the BBQ cookoff tents and carnival rides are at the rodeo? I'm riding the train to go to the BBQ thing and I don't want to find out that I can't carry when I get to the gate!

Thanks,
Kevin

Those stickers are obviously for people who do NOT have a license but want people to think they do. Idiots!

You should look at the Beretta PX4. Why does it seem that Beretta is usually ignored or not recommended in these kinds of posts? I really like my PX4 9mm.

Actually, I rather like the staff and atmosphere at Memorial Oaks. The target returns are manually cranked, but the membership is only $50/mo. or $300/yr., and if no one else is waiting for your lane, they usually let you stay for longer than an hour for the $15 fee. For outdoor ranges, I go to Bail...

The don't have a range; they just teach the classroom part of the CHL class there. I went in there once to look around and listened in on the class for a minute. I would not recommend taking it there and will probably not go back again. <<shudder>>

Not only that, you can carry all of them concealed on your person if you want to.

I have never understood how a gun can "go off" while being cleaned, at least the way I clean mine. Are these idiots just leaving it loaded and wiping off the outside of it, hitting the trigger?

Pappas Restaurants: I've been in lots of them in different cities, and AFAIK none of them post the 30.06. They may have been confused several years ago and posted incorrect signs. I'd be very interested to know which locations, if any, do currently post a 30.06, since I work for the company.

w/o the kid in the car, the least he would have gotten was a middle finger.
Did you know you can be charged with disorderly conduct for this? It also tends to escalate situations. I usually just smile and wave.

Another perspective - Suppose your teenage daughter met a few people somewhere. A week or so later, she gets a call from a girl or young woman, one of these people she doesn't know very well, who wants to get together and comes over to pick up your daughter when no one else is home, so no one knows ...

The exclusion from prosecution for carrying a sporting activity weapon to and from one’s residence to the field seemingly without the inclusion of weapons used in hunting and fishing appears to be an oversight by the Legislature. I always assumed this was intended to cover target shooting and oth...
