Re: PAR (Private Pilot Written) Exam Scheduled

I took an intensive weekend exam prep class and the last event was the written exam on Sunday at course end. The cram course worked well as I scored in the high 80s or low 90s. This was a long, long time ago, I have no idea if those are still available. I seriously doubt if I could have scored as we...

Re: Strong side carry results in opposite side soreness

Try a different holster, might help. I recently started carrying a double spare magazine holder instead of my usual one spare. I could immediately tell I had a few more ounces on my belt so our bodies are very sensitive.

I submitted a few moments ago, yesterday was officially 6 months until renewal, but the website didn't give me a renewal option until this morning. Congrats on your renewal It only t...

Re: Defending against someone who is mentally ill

The topic begs the question of how would you know a person threatening you is mentally ill?

I really like my 300 BLK for the suppressed stuffs.

Makes it really nice and quiet with some umph behind the bullet.
Same here. 200 grain bullet and a suppressor is just a loud click of the action cycling. One of my favorite ARs.

Re: Bedside Pistol - Springfield XDM Elite OSP????

I think that the springfields are an excellent choice. I am not sure how useful all the other bits are. The can might be more a liability in terms of limiting maneuverability and perhaps more importantly it gives intruders a great big handle with which to lever that pistol out if your hands. I like...

Renewal times during WuFlu?

I recently submitted my 3rd LTC renewal (hard to believe I've been carrying for almost 10 years), I was wondering how long DPS is taking in these crazy times. My change of address only took about 3 days but that was probably a simple process.

And one of my heroes. He fought colon cancer for years and his immune system was compromised. Saying he died from WuFlu is a bit misleading.

We live on acreage, my neighbor to the south has a Trump sign on one of his gates, I'm a Vietnam vet and covering my right flank is an Iraqi vet. It's all good out here.

Re: HD for the elderly- need some suggestions

I'm in my early 70s can manage handguns, rifles and my Mossy pump 12 gauge. So age could or couldn't be an issue, all depends on physical capability and/or willingness to learn. Charles mentioned an SBR, I'm thinking that would be my ultimate home defense weapon. That's on my next to acquire list.
