So what you are saying is that they could post them but they would be useless?

Yes, at least as it applies to non-PC §46.03 or PC §46.035 locations.

Well, let me qualify that statement. It is not useless for government entities, because they can confuse CHL holders into believing that it is a ...

That opinion was given in 2001, and if you read the reasoning above the summary it is written:
The statutory language regarding the notice required under section 30.06 is virtually identical to that employed in section 30.05, the general criminal trespass statute. Because, under the reasoning of ...

Actually, government entities can post PC §30.06 signs or give verbal notice pursuant to that section. There is no law saying that they can't.

Actually there is. That is why the Houston Metro 30-06 policy was thrown out as illegal.

You are confusing the issues. METRO had its own internal rule ...

A verbal warning is sufficient without posting a 30.06 sign under normal circumstances actually. However, government entities are still exempt from being able to do either. They have no right to use 30.06 to deny entry whether the notice is oral or written.

Actually, government entities can post ...

Re: Question About Airports

Question: What part of an airport is considered to be "secure" and at what point does it become that way?

Is there a legal definition of what a "secure" area of an airport is? I'm just wondering at what point this will be considered a "secured" area.

The state prohibition concerning carrying a ...

I do not doubt what you saw, but I do find it hard to believe it would work. I have been around cops for over 15 years, and have some in the family. We have discussed metal detectors several times.
A metal detector can only detect that metal is present, be it change in your pocket, pens, knives ...

There is a Washington Mutual branch in Houston (on Bellaire and Wilcrest) that has metal detectors at the 2 sets of doors to get in. If it detects anything, you will be locked out. Besides that branch, I have never seen metal detectors at a bank.

How can that be???
YOu mean you cant get in with ...

Re: carry by county prosecutors

Does anyone know what the status is for ass't county prosecutors concerning concealed carry? Are they considered LEO's under the law?
Are they required to apply for a CHL permit in order to carry? I know that they deal with the same scary characters that the police arrest every day. If it were me ...

I was reading in the TSRA newletter yesterday that the TSRA is currently working to get the legislature to define "traveling" to include all car travel. They are still in the early stages of this and from the sound of it, I'm not sure anything will happen this year on it...

So I guess we're going ...

Question: with reguard to carrying a "club" in your car...with or without a CHL, 46.02.b.3 seems to imply to me that if you are "travelling" it is OK. But I could not find anything that defines "travelling". If one is driving their car, they are travelling, aren't they?
