Prayers for my wife
Long story-short version: My wife has struggled with back issues for years. She has had 2 spinal fusions, both of which helped for a while. 2 years ago, she started having issues again. she didn't want to have another major surgery so we spoke to our family doctor (also a friend) and he set an appoi...

Sounds pretty typical for NY. They don't care about anyone's rights. Hope Mr. Stolarczyk beats the charges and sues the city for every dime they have

Re: Needing a New Gun Safe
I had a Voultek with biometric lock and decided to sell it a few years ago. Being in the A/C business I would develop cuts and scars on my fingers. The Biometrics would not unlock due to the changes. As long as I had no cuts, it worked fine but if a cut would scar over, I would have to reset it.

Re: Can the government take your guns in an emergency?
You guys are talking about rules and laws . Unfortunately our current government doesn't seem to be bothered about such trivial things. If he tries to get my guns, I am going to have a Viking funeral. I am sure I will lose in the long run, but there will be lots of bodies of my enemies to bury at m...

Re: WSJ: Disaster preparedness on the increase
I have been wondering something, and would like to get comments on the following scenario: People have sometimes constructed a "safe room" against tornados. If their house took a direct hit from a tornado, the rest of the house could collapse upon the safe room. How would the occupants al...

Re: WSJ: Disaster preparedness on the increase
My wife is terrified by storms. Mostly because she is so dependent on oxygen and can't get away quickly if I am not home. Several years ago, we remodeled our home and added a large master closet. We had 6" reinforced concrete poured for walls and ceiling. We also had a 12x14 storm shelter built...

We went Thursday and entered through the Stockman's gate. No one there to wand and only 2 for ticket collection. No questions asked.

Re: Dallas County Hosting Gun Buy Back
When DeSoto did this a couple of years back, I sold them a broken single shot bolt action .22 LR for a $100 Walmart gift card. I thought I did pretty good. You did great. I am just curious so they collect any personal information from you? It's been a while but I do not believe so. From what I can ...

Re: Dallas County Hosting Gun Buy Back
I have 2 guns that didn't cost me anything because they were gifts from my dad when I was about 10-11 years old. One is a single shot shotgun and the other a single shot 22. Beyond those 2, the rest of my firearms, like most of those here, cost well above the $100.00 buy back they are paying. I may ...

Re: Need to ID a snake? Send a pic to the # listed below.
There is a Facebook page (yeah, I know) called Texas Snake Identification. The admins are herpetologists and very knowledgeable about snakes in Texas. You post a picture along with the location and they usually reply within an hour.

I have a Vortex Strikefire 2 on my AR. It has a switch that goes to either red or green. I found that I like the red better during bright daylight and the green actually works better for me at low light. As of yet, I don't have anything other than iron sights on my pistols
