Re: Illegal Kitty Keychain

That keychain was made specifically as a weapon, like brass knuckles or dagger, not a keychain that "could" be used as one. While a dagger is legal, the resemblance of brass knuckles is not. If someone wants wants a similar item, just get a mini dagger and attach to keychain, purse or even carried ...

Re: Gun for a new shooter

I taught a lot of female soldiers to shoot for the military. Hundreds. Lots of conversations. It's probably not a fear of recoil. It's the noise and fear of not having grip strength to not drop the gun. They think they're going to have the same trouble they had racking the slide. They feel like the ...

What I do know that lady was one cool customer. She handled that like a pro.
I agree. She's been stress tested in the past.

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

Actually the term "civilian" can also be used to describe someone who is not part of a group. Like professional poker players might refer to casual tourists as "civilians". This might be more of a slang term, though. I'm not sure how this relates to the topic of this thread, though. It sounds like ...

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

I totally agree if they work outside the law it is very dangerous. :iagree: They do not have the right to arrest me any time the choose, there are laws (as I mentioned previously) that dictate what, where, how, etc. :rules: I also completely agree with your last comment. I wish they were not a nece...

My view of the term civilian always included LEOs too unless they were currently serving on active duty in the uniformed armed services of the United States. Cops are civilians, Marines are not... :biggrinjester: FBI, civilian. US Army, not. :rules:
That is correct. Subject to UCMJ.

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

A right is a possessed power of a freedom to do or freedom from I think we will not agree on the symantics of the definition. I'm ok with that. I am ok to be a civilian, not a subject. More on topic I suppose, I believe police must work within the laws, and they obviously have more law enforcement ...

A right is a possessed power of a freedom to do or freedom from.

Police have no more rights than any other person in this country. Nor should they refer to us as civilians, as they are themselves.

What they have are specified delegated authorities to perform the functions of their assigned tasks.

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

The cop didn't have to disarm all he had to do was cover it up. Just like us of the lower classes are required to do. What bothers me is that people for some reason this guy is entitled more than the rest of us. I’m not a LEO but it’s seems logical if he has his badge on display he is representing ...

If this was the little box with the 6 or so last posts I really liked that for what it's worth.
