Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class

2 year waiting list! As discouraged as those people may be, wait until they finally finish and find out there is almost no market for it. I do have 5 classes scheduled this summer, for 2 districts, but the majority of schools either are too PC to even consider this (most of them), or will only deal ...

Re: TX: Houston 5 YO gets gun for mom to shoot dad.

I grew up in a house with unsecured shotguns (the 1950s). I was told that if I ever touched one of those without a parent present, I wouldn't sit down for a week, and I believed it.

Re: On line classes have started

Just got an email from someone who is charging $229.00 for the online LTC course. Really? Who in the world would pay that much for a class that can't possibly be worth over $100.00?

I better raise my rates. :biggrinjester:

Re: Police in Denison said a restaurant employee refused to serve two Denison officers early Saturday morning.

I think police SHOULD be a protected class, and should be allowed to carry in any business. Cops are working for the public, and it is an insult to treat them like criminals.
If people want to be snippy about LE, let them move to Cuba.

Re: LTC-9

RSD wrote back. The LTC-9 is actually for Online only. For those of us doing just the Proficiency, we still use the LTC-8, and write "Online" in the space for classroom. Easy, but unclear.

Re: Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new school safety plan and proposed changes to gun laws

A school system I am working with allows any staff to carry, if they have an LTC and complete 2 days of active shooter training. The district pays for that. This strikes a good balance, and gives them a chan e to do some range training beyond the LTC level.

Re: Ruger lcp

I normally carry a Shield .45, but for special cases (as in wearing a tux), I carry a Glock 42 in a deSantis pocket holster. I'm not a fan of Glock or Ruger, but CZ doesn't make a small enough gun. :biggrinjester: The Glock 42 is small, but with a good length, good sights, and a nice trigger. NOTES:...

Re: Ltc question

2 years, but if you have already started the application with DPS, that times out at 1 year. In that case, you would have to pay again, but your LTC-100 is good for 2 years.

Mark Forums as Read doesn't stick. Every time I come back, all the titles are glaring red, and I have to reset them.

LTC-9

Hmmm. I an doing a Proficiency for an online student tomorrow, and just discovered that I cannot download the LTC-9 reporting form, presumably because I am not an online provider.

Can someone send me one?

Re: Calling any local CHL insructors

FYI --

Assistants can't score targets, per DPS. Also, the person who teaches the class should be able to run the Proficiency. I assume he/she is licensed.

Sorry I can't help; other commitments.

Re: On line classes have started

I doubt I will be asked to do any of these. I have been approached by several online providers already, and they seem to think I can do a private lesson and Proficiency for $30-40 and make more per hour than teaching a class of 16. You do the math. In addition, they want me to send them students. So...

Re: 9.22 Necessity

These situations have actually happened. Regardless of the law, if someone stops an active shooter and saves lives, and is not reckless, experience shows that public pressure makes it impossible to prosecute those people. This is not a guarantee, but the public appreciates someone who steps up for p...
