Re: Disarmed by uninformed officer
This whole incident illuminates why I don't agree with sworn peace officers being employed as private security officers. This exposes both the officer and the employing agency to litigation and physical risk. This past October we had a Constable in our county die in an altercation while providing s...

Zeroing in a laser
Through a Facebook group I came across a really good deal on a Streamlight TLR-2 HL. I was looking for a weapon mounted light not necessarily with a laser but it has one (red) so, hey. I understand the tactical drawbacks of a laser but if I'm going to have one I'd like to zero it in. My question is,...

Re: Hand on open carried gun
In the "Five Stages of Violent Crime" article that I am listing below the two guys at the Valero were well on their way to stage 3. It all starts with the intent to project innocence. If you don't recognize and react to it you're playing into their hand. http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.co...

Re: Impact of 30.06 to businesses
I went to the Sprouts on the west side of El Paso yesterday. First time there because I had avoided it with the knowledge that it was their company policy to post 30.06. We pulled up and I left my gun in the truck... imagine my surprise when there weren't any signs at all except for the TABC blue si...

Can a TPWD ran state park legally post a 30.07 sign? The facility in question is the Wyler Aerial Tramway in El Paso.

Re: UNT Campus Carry Draft Policy
Section VII B 2 really concerns me. They're saying that the Police Chief can ban legal carry "upon receipt of credible information of imminent injury to human life or destruction to university property."
That seems counterproductive to me.

Does the person who makes the real decision on whether or not you can carry work in that same building or neighborhood? If so, it might be easier to convey your sense of insecurity.

Re: Work: active shooter training but doesn't allow cc
I think it would be a good idea to attend just from the point of view for what to expect from others if something like this happened. You would know at least what they had been told to do and some might actually do it. The others would be reduced to running around making animal noises.
