I have checked a handgun in at the San Diego airport. Other then the ticket agent looking at me like I was a crazy person, I had no issues with it. The Best airport I have found so far is the Denver airport. They take to another screening area, very secure and no issues

I carry my G27 in an Ituck by Tuffproducts.com works just like you said, easy off and on and no need to retuck your shirt every time you remove/add the holster. IMO its a good option for the situation you describe where you might have to arm/disarm several times through out the day
