Re: Setting the stage for "assault weapon ban"

I stopped watching when the Congressman said he was issued an AR-15 when he was in the military. Either he's lying, or he isn't talking about the U.S. military.

Re: Ghost Guns

If they redefine it closer to a basic hunk of metal, does that mean I can take a chunk of metal to a "gun buyback" and get $75 for it?

jrs_diesel wrote: Fri Apr 09, 2021 6:07 pm I’ve done it that same way (minus the dessicant packs) for years with no apparent problems with any of my ammo.
I've also had no issues after 10+ years of storage for some ammo. Just thinking about the potential need for even more long-term storage if the ammo shortages continue to get worse.

Re: Competitive shooting participation

I think allowing the use of rimfire is a great idea. I could use my Glock 44 (I think that's the right model) for that. I might check and see if my local club allows that. I'm assuming their not using reactive steel targets since I question whether a .22lr round would be able to knock one down.

Ammo storage

I have been storing most of my ammo in my non-insulated garage in the Houston area. The ammo is in surplus GI ammo cans (mostly .50 cal cans), with desiccant packs in them. I recently read on another forum that it is a bad idea to subject ammo to high heat / severe temperature swings. My question is...

Competitive shooting participation

I used to shoot IDPA on a semi-regular basis (about once a month, give or take). But I stopped completely when ammo became impossible to find at any reasonable price. I'm just curious. Are people still participating in IDPA / USPSA / 3 Gun, etc? Or has the participation dropped off? Also, are clubs ...

Re: Buy a Shotgun, a Double Barreled Shotgun

I remember when I first heard Biden give this piece of home defense "advice". I was amazed that in a few short sentences he was able to give advice that completely violated all gun safety principles, was highly illegal, and at the same time was incredibly stupid from a tactical perspective...

This must be fake news. Everyone knows that mass shootings are only committed by white males.

Also, I'd recommend that you at least think about posting on Texas Gun Trader. Yes, there are some flakes there, but I've never had an issue with anyone I've actually done business with. Just don't agree to meet 30 minutes away, since for some reason there are people who like to sound really enthusi...

Re: BREAKING DECISION! Bump stock not a machine gun!

One minor point of disagreement. The video said that bump stocks were "still illegal". I had thought that yes, machine guns were (and are) illegal, and also that the BATFE had issued an opinion that they believed a "bump stock" met the legal definition of a machine gun. Of course...

Re: BREAKING DECISION! Bump stock not a machine gun!

In response to the ruling, the BATFE has now classified the index finger as a component that results in machine guns. Owners of semi-automatic firearms will now have the option to either: turn in the weapons to designated local law enforcement; file and obtain the appropriate Class III/NFA permits ...

Re: Coverage of the Derek Chauvin Trial in death of George Floyd

I am willing to bet my house that this officer that kept his knee on this guys neck is regretting that decision everyday. I can’t imagine putting my knee on somebody’s neck for that long. Others may find it ok but not me as a humane person. He will be found guilty. I think he'll likely be found gui...

Re: And again car comparison oh so wrong

The well you have to have a license and insurance to have a car. Oh and title inspection plus Health checks to have a car let’s treat guns like cars. Ok I can build a race car the can go as fast as I want with not title, insurance, inspection, registration or any of that unless I drive it on public...

Re: FBI charges six who it says plotted to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

I'm glad they were caught. But my question is: Why isn't the FBI ALSO arresting anarchists who are crossing state lines and burning down businesses, rioting, looting, and causing billions of dollars in damage? Can't they go after ALL the anarchists? They might want to start with the citizens of CHA...
